Recently Lee Dong-Gook, Seol Ki-Hyeon, and Kim Nam-Il returned to South Korea squad to play against Australia. There could be more familiar faces returning to the South Korea squad! Golden boy Ahn Jung-Hwan who scored a golden goal against Italy back in 2002 World Cup may return and Huh Jung-Moo has told Ahn not to give up hope on making the 2010 World Cup as Huh leaves World Cup door open for Ahn. Cho Jae-Jin, Lee Chun-Soo, and Cha Du-Ri may also return.
New face, new skin color may join the South Korea squad
Kang Su-Il (or Kang Soo-Il), half black, half Korean soccer player who currently plays for Incheon United at K-League, wants to be just like Lee Keun-Ho. He was awarded as MVP. One of his current major goals is to play for South Korea team. He wishes to play for Korea in 2010 World Cup South Africa and is waiting for coach Huh to pick him.
Upcoming games
South Korea is scheduled to play against Senegal on October 14. On November 14 and 18, Korea will be playing against European teams.
Dick Advocaat to coach Belgium
Unbelievably, Dick Advocaat, who coached Korea in 2006 World Cup, got fired from FC Zenit, despite that Zenit won UEFA Cup. Advocaat will coach Belgium next month. Even though Belgium cannot qualify for next year's World Cup, Advocaat will be in charge of Belgium in two remaining qualifier matches. Before Pim Verbeek was hired to coach Australia, Advocaat was offered to coach the Socceroos, but later rejected the offer. I think he should have taken the Australian job.
