New Band on Shield recordings and new releases
Rentokill - THE O.S.E. 12" picture EP.
The first release of 2009 will be a very limited Picture 12" from Austria’s best political punk band Rentokill named The O.S.E. EP. The 12" picture EP contains 3 new songs and one bonus track. The artwork for this 12" has been done by Rentokill’s drummer Bertl and looks really special. The 12" comes with a free CD which contains the same songs.
We of Shield Recordings are taking care of this release for the Benelux area. For releases in other countries check www.rentokill.com.
Release date of the O.S.E. EP is March 2nd, Pre-orders are up now and will be shipped on the 1st of March. We only get a limited amount of records and when they’re gone, they’re gone, so be quick and order the record now at www.shieldrecordings.com/distro.

The Real Danger – 2 song 7" single.
Shield Recordings will release a brand new 2 song 7" single by The Real Danger right before they go on their first Euro tour (March 14th till March 21st). First song on the 7 inch is "Someday Soon" which will also be on the upcoming full length album. This album will be released later this year by Shield Recordings but more info about that later. The second song on the 7" is "Turn off the lights" which will be an exclusive song just for this 7".
Release date for this 2 song 7" single is March 6th and the release will be celebrated at the WATT in Rotterdam that same night.
Pre-orders are up at our webstore (www.shieldrecordings.com/distro) right now. Those who pre-order this record will get a little something special or extra, what exactly remains to be seen. Pre-orders will be shipped the second week of March.

The Hunger – Hope Against Hope 12" pre-order.
Finally the waiting is over. We’re now taking pre-orders for the vinyl version of The Hunger “Hope against Hope”. “Hope Against Hope” will be released as a one-sided 12". The artwork is going to be completely different from the artwork of the CD version. Expect something really nice. Pre-orders will be even more “special” and are, of course, very limited, so be quick. Release date for this record is March 21st and will be presented at the Shield Recordings Showcase at The Stage (Arnhem, NL).

On December 6th the new Smash the Statues Album "When fear is all around us" was released on a great release party at the Merlyn in Nijmegen.

Shield Recordings showcase.
As mentioned in our November newsletter: Shield Recordings is going to do another showcase. The latest edition in 2007 was an amazing evening, and this time it should be even better.
The date is set to March 21st and the chosen venue is Cafe The Stage in Arnhem (www.cafethestage.nl). So everybody come out and join us with this great line-up:

Atlas Losing Grip is looking for other shows in order to make it to the showcase, the dates are:
