Deathkiller New England is Sinking I Scream Records Grade: B/B+
Immediately as Deathkiller rips into opener "Take Me to Your Bleeder," you are struck by the presence of the band. Mixing heavy post-hardcore with harder punk edges, Deathkiller trample through the twelve-song, half-hour long debut New England is Sinking. With Matt McIntosh varying his vocals (and guitar) between standard hardcore, aggressive dirty punk, and Lou from SOIA, drummer Anthony Realbuto (both did time in Hatebreed and Most Precious Blood), and bassist Christina Chiaramonte, Deathkiller are only a couple steps from epic shit. It is surprising that a three-piece can make such emotive, intense music – calling out all these new six-member pop hardcore bands – but however they create the music it is glorious. If Deathkiller moves more towards the dirty punk angle (like a hardcore version of Hot Water Music) they may find converts lining up and down the street and around the corner. -Exoduster.com
DEATHKILLER - New England Is Sinking (I Scream Records www.iscreamrecords.com) Finally, Connecticut has something cool to brag about in the form of Deathkiller. This thunderous trio offers a dozen triumphant tracks of 90's hardcore with some rock and few metallic tinges mixed in for spice. There is not a bland effort in the bunch, as vocalist/guitarist Matt McIntosh and drummer Anthony Realbuto are both hardcore legends, having spent some time with Most Precious Blood and Hatebreed, but the real surprise is bassist Christina Chiaramonte, and no, not because she's a girl. Rather, she is tremendous bassist who actually gets to show off in the midst of two other sterling players. It is rare, particularly with this style pf music, that each of the three band mates can expose their individual talents. I loved the grooves on "Call in the Airstrike" and "Let the Good Times Fold", while "Man Alone", the furious "You Know the Drill" and the noisy "Carlos D is in My Top 8" reveal the variety of ways this band can crush you. Their sound is immense for a trio, and I could not believe the wrath unleashed throughout this disc. Fans of Boston hardcore will hear many similarities between Deathkiller and their Bean town brethren, but Deathkiller does more than imitate a classic period of East Coast passion. There is intricacies immersed in the intensity, and this band deserves big time attention.

" This is what music has been missing! They are not trying to fit into a genre, or appease the masses of teenagers; they are just rocking the fuck out, and it comes off as honest as anything i have heard in years! I wish i could join this band, just to get to play these immense songs every night!"
-AMP Magazine
" Forget all that ex-members stuff. This band is their own entity, and a massive one at that. Huge guitars, huge riffs, and rock that grabs you by the back of the head, and slams your face into the speakers! Heavy rock, with feel that only a HardCore scene could deliver. For fans of Fugazi, Barrs, Black Flag, American Nightmare, and pretty much anybody with ear-drums, and half a sense of decent music..."
-Loud Fast Rules
"This is the future of music. Pure honesty, pure brutality. Heavy, yet moving along effortlessly. Ugly as hell, yet so beautifully crafted. I defy anything to rise up and dethrone this as the early contender for record of the year!"

DEATHKILLER NEW ENGLAND IS SINKING 3.5 OUT OF 4 Here's another release I almost put in the Dr. Rock column, especially when I found out this band has past members from Hatebreed and Most Precious Blood. And while Deathkiller does play a raucous and well-done brand of hardcore, it leans more towards early Sick Of It All (hell, if Matt doesn't sound like Lou, I'll eat my hat!) than the more metal end of the Hatebreed sound, though the metallic and crisp sound to the guitar is awesome. If you are hankering for a hardcore record, heavy on the hard punk rock hardcore, this is where to start.
