Pentacle Magazine [link] is Europe's largest distributed Pagan magazine. My piece 'My Inner Space' [link] is featured in their current issue. At first I wasn't sure why the publishers wanted to use that piece (it really isn't Pagan related). But my copy arrived in the mail yesterday and now I understand how it related to the story they used it for.
The article compares cravings for alternate drug experiences with the excitement and escapism of Paganism. They state that Paganism can offer witches, ghosts and really weird cool stuff that is highly marketable, but it can also offer a deeper and more difficult wisdom.
Therefore, true Paganism becomes a real challenge which most people are not really ready for or fascinated by.
The article states, "Paganism has to be subversive; it has to be unsafe because our society is intolerant of things that are different. But if it does not face this challenge, Paganism will fall prey to the much greater tragedy of becoming meaningless".
