Hi all
I'm back in sunny South Africa after a month spent touring the UK, Ireland, and Dubai. Man I love this country.
Dubai was hot. So hot I can barely sit here and type about it cos just thinking about it makes me ill. But the show was cool, thanks to everyone for coming out. Castle Palooza in Ireland was fun. And finally the UK tour was pretty cool. We met a lot of cool people, took over a couple of houses, and one bar, and basically just enjoyed the time on the road. Oh yes and Kahn and our friend Zeke were attacked by kiddie gangsters in Camden. This was our 1st real-life experience with the fearless kid gangs of the UK. Luckily , only belts and no blades were drawn, so we're still The Parlotones, and not The Statistics.
Thanks to everyone who helped us out on tour, gave us accomodation, bought us drinks, and came to our shows.
So while Kahn and our manager are in the States, the rest of the band are having a well-deserved break before we hit the road again. 5 days in a row off, pretty awesome.
Check out our tour dates, they're mostly in SA at the moment, but we plan to head back to our second home, the UK, again in November.
Anyway, I'm off to do something. Not sure what exactly. It's a bit weird having your nights to yourself I must say.
Oh yes and check out Minus IQ and The Plan - my two favourite UK bands at the moment. Also, have a listen to Kings Don't Marry Queens (www.myspace.com/kingsdontmarryqueens). It's my first guest appearance on another band's song. I personally think my voice made the song. Have a listen and see if you agree ;)
See you on the road.
