Brian Scott H.
February 26, 1979 - April 15, 2007
Brian Scott H. 28, joined his Heavenly Father in eternal life Sunday morning, April 15th from his home in Chicago.
Brian passed away in his sleep.
Bri was a healthy, intelligent, driven 28 yr. old. A graduate from Purdue University and full of ambition.
Just hours before his death he mailed this letter to us. This letter was postmarked April 14, 2007.
This is the way Brian lived and said goodbye.
"....Over the years we have been very fortunate to travel to some incredible places. We've been given the opportunity to join our Church team on a mission trip to Turkey July 6-15 2007. During our trip, we will be assisting in teaching English to the children as a second language, while interacting with the community of Istanbul. What makes this trip so special is that we'll be able to share the amazing story of Christ's love. What an awesome experience!
Why the sudden urge to do something like this? Over these past few years we've gained a greater appreciation for all the blessings we have and have realized that nothing compares to the richness of having Christ at the center of our lives. When you get excited about God and the way The Gospel impacts lives, all you want to do is share it with others so that they too can experience the incredible life change. It's what we as Christians are called to do and we feel this trip is just a start for us to share that message....."
He included a CD of "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me, in this letter.
I'm sending this on behalf of my precious cousin and brother in Christ....maybe it will find it's way to Turkey.
Things like Virginia Tech, war, sickness.... will all happen here.
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33

This isn't all there is......Rejoice!

Rejoice, Rejoice, REJOICE! We should all Rejoice! Everyday. All day long! It's actually quite easy (usually), if you know The Way.

May God bless you,
Chris

To know that Brian was already at this level of Grace and Love the day the Lord called him home can be a comfort in the loss that you and his love one's may feel. I can only him looking down and watching over all of you. saying, as you cope with your lost, " Weep not for me, for I'm out wilderness. Follow the path I walked. It will lead you home."

Thanks for allowing me to know Brian a little. He'll be in my prayers. Be well and blessed.

I remember loving that song...it's a long story. Sorry to hear about your cousin, I'm sure in his remembrance, many children will learn the language of english and learn of why he wanted to help.

Hi Kimber,

Fisrt of all I want to thank you for sharing this letter, and for sharing Brian with us. I know that his passing has brought some saddness and pain for you and your family. But on the other hand, WOW what a blessing he must have been. And what an incredible blessing this letter is, not only to you and your family but for the rest of us.

The great comfort you can have at the moment, is as the song says "Surounded By YUOR Glory" He is there, that is awsome.

God Bless You !!!
