So after a much needed 6 month break I'll be giving private lessons again here in Brooklyn and NYC; I think this is the longest hiatus I've taken in over a decade...

I'll be planning to do (ideally) up to 12 lessons per month, total.

Long stretches of not teaching are always refereshing, given that there's always so much else to do and all the time that was used for teaching becomes time for writing, recording or whatever else.  But, invariably I miss it after a while.

Anyone interested can contact me via this website or at (and probably a better choice) quietearthmusic@msn.com.   Please include some information on what you're looking to learn, my background is fairly extensive and diverse, and over the many years teaching and playing it doesn't take me long to figure out how to get someone where they need to go.

All best, Mark

I probably won't ever get to take a lesson with you, but what in the realm of jazz do you teach, besides the classic "roots and chord tones" cocktail plus your basic jazz voice leading.... do you ever get involved in the lydian chromatic stuff????
