Shiny... Pretty.... Distracting.... You slowly let your braking foot
go slack. T-boned at a red light.
In the basement, lit only by the flicker of terror alert levels from
coast to coast, we have been busy, folks.
New Releases
---------------------
Specs One : The Long Awaited Mega EP. Release date: Sept 20, 2005.
No ice, no lifestylin', no ballin', no frontin', no blabbing on and on
about how real we are, no long lists of who we roll with, just droppin'
tracks. The Long Awaited Mega EP is the lead tine in a multi-pronged
sneak attack: Seattle's legend, Specs One on wax. Stay tuned to
http://www.soultheftrecords.com for preorder information. This record
is limited to 500 copies worldwide. 6 songs, plus beats. We all
wasted no time in sitting down to talk about what the next moves will
be. It'll be obvious when the smoke clears.
soultheft: Precision Weapon 12". Release date: Sept 20, 2005
After lulling everyone into a bass-laden snooze with 2003's SUB:spect
EP, soultheft rolls the live grenade under your couch to deliver two
new tracks: Precision Weapon b/w Click-Clack Jacka. The first is the
bassy head-nod affair you have been expecting, while the b-side is an
attempt to get you up and moving. Can it overcome the gravity of TV?
Send us your money to find out.
IED: Improvised Explosive Devices
-------------------------------------------
Lots pending.
Another collaboration with Specs One. Sure. Start the rumor mill.
Any guesses?
soultheft: after ... sound 12". The plangent one ventures into glitch
and tiny-ness.
E.Greenwalt: Spontaneous Human Combustion: A case history. Greenwalt's
first book - "poems, everybody." The guy's been around forever just
waiting for the world to end. Getting with these ruminations is where
we all need to be. soultheft records is very excited to be a part of
this.
Doug Nufer: The River Boys b/w Mudflat Man. Two complete novels,
bringing back the old "Ace Double" style. Unlike the hacks we find
sleeping under the desks at the offices of soultheft records, this
guy's a professional. You may know of him from his Autonomedia novel,
"Negativeland" (2004) and others. Two great stories in a great
package.
nov23: Someday... A real rain... Final recording and mixing is
underway for an early 2006 release. E.Greenwalt and P.Petrocelli of
Black Noise Cannon have been working hard at getting this done and the
results are very beautiful.
Black Noise Cannon: new full-length recording to start before year's
end. Shows between now and then and beyond.
soultheft design: more and more projects happening. Check
http://www.soultheftrecords.com/gallery.html for samples of our work.
Local telephone poles, too. We're looking for more work, so please
contact soultheft@soultheftrecords.com for very reasonable rates (if
any rates at all). Posters, handbills, CD / record package design,
business cards, wedding invitations, forged signatures, whatever you
can dream up. If it can be done with the tools we have, we'll find a
way to birth it.
