Just got back from a fun filled weekend at Disneyland.  Yes, we were there for the ACTUAL 50th celebration on July 17, 2005.  When I say we, I mean my brother, his wife and me.  There is a picture in there of us holding our vouchers.  I will explain more about the vouchers later.  Anyway, so we had lots of fun on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday was the big day and I think youll like to hear more about that anyway.

So we decided to go back to our hotel room early on Saturday night so that we could get in to the park on the actual 50th on Sunday.  I knew that people were already going to be lining up at 12am but we wanted to get some sleep.  So we woke up, get ready, had a lil morning snack and headed off to the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure.  We took the tram from the structure to the park on the Downtown Disney side.  Once we got off the tram (6:30am), there was already a line that stretched around this planter area all the way down to pretty much the end of Downtown Disney and then looped all teh way back just so you could get your bags checked to get into the park in the first place.  So that was about a 45 minute wait.  Now, at 7:15am, we are in the esplanade (the area in between Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure[DCA]) and from here we waited in a completely filled esplanade just to get into the Disneyland Park.

Now, I must tell you at this point that the people who decided to wait in line overnight were fed into DCA.  Those some 10,000 people lined up around the entire perimeter of the inside of the park and then some.

So while we were waiting, they were feeding these overnighers into the park.  The park was supposed to open at 8:00am but since they weren't finished loading the overnighers, they didn't get the park open unti about 8:15am.  So we finally get INTO the park at 8:20am.

From this point on I think I need a "to be continued."  Stay tuned for the next part of this story.
