Current mood:  amused
I stopped at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh today after work. I don't go there nearly enough. I need to start going there with a better camera. My "good" digital camera was left at home with its battery on the charger. The only camera I had with me was in my phone, and it was hard to get good shots of these given the lighting conditions in the stacks.

The first thing I had to get a shot of was this. Yes, I've seen this book before but it was always titled "Calculus Refresher" on the front and the copyrights page had the "For Technical Men" bit.

I did look though this book. I don't see why it is only fit for men. As a technically inclined woman I think I could find it useful.

I also saw something that made me laugh so hard I was afraid I was going to be thrown out. I was looking for a book on theological history. In section BT (Library of Congress system).

Notice the first two letters in the call number...

It's not just Christian Scriptures...

< sarcasm >So I guess those Evangelical Christians are right. The federal government has been trying to stamp out religious beliefs for years. I mean, this is the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS' system. This must be a vast left-wing conspiracy or something. < /sarcasm > Although, I do hope Richard Dawkins sees this. I don't fully agree with his analysis of the unknown, but I find his debating style entertaining. Plus he's an excellent writer...

DISCLAIMER: I do not condone the banning or burning of books... Even if the title of said book is offensive or sexist in my eyes. Please do not go ape-shit over this silly old title by giving the library trouble. If you do go ape-shit and give the library trouble they could always turn over all of your library records to the federal government. Then your Congressperson will know that you've read all of John Grisham's books and renewed all of Hawthorn's works twice!
