Ok, this is how the story begins...

I started my music career when I was 12 aspiring to be an artist like Da Brat, Kris Kross, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, ya know, the people on the radio at that time (1992). I wrote my first rap to that Cypress Hill beat 'I could just kill a man' and found that I could actually do what they were doing myself. So, I would practice in front of the mirror everyday, acting like the artist I so aspired to be. I also wrote a lot of poems at the time expressing my feelings about the divorce my mom and dad were going through at the time and how I felt as a teenager going growing up in the early 90's.

When I was 14 me and my close homie Dietrich (Decapo) started our own group with a 'Bone Thug' style and got noticed by an upcoming label 'Jungle Records' associated with Mack 10 and were about to sign a record deal. The main person out of that label was Big Blacc and we were suppose to record our first 'demo' in Las Vegas in the summer of 1995. Unfortunately, the summer of 95' I got locked up for attempted murder and sentenced to 10 years in the California Youth Authority (CYA). Jungle records sent me a letter or two but soon forgot about me behind bars. I kept in close contact with Decapo and would feel hype everytime I heard a new flow over the phone by him, telling all of my jail-mates about my ambitions when I got out. Over the phone we came up with a rap group, named the O.S.O's (Official Soldier Operations) including the homies Doc Holla, Nemises, and Kold which we would start upon my release.
When I was in jail I kept up on my flow and rapped during program (rec) and in my cell. I was so good in jail that mothafuckaz would have a song request line and I would spit a song over my own beat, beating on my bunk with my fists and a pen. I was released early 2001 and sent to a half-way house in Downtown L.A. where I stayed for 3 months following my 5 year parole that I had to deal with. I still smoked though =) thanks to a few products that helped me along the way. In 2002 the O.S.O.'s recorded two tracks that went absolutely nowhere! The O.S.O.'s soon broke up due to the power tripping that was going on between the ranks and I knew that I could do better and get somewhere that would help me blow up. So, me being me, I reached out to other artists that were doing their thing online and at that time I met LP tha Chemist. It was then that I changed my name from O.S.O. KareLess to KareLess which you know me as today. I still keep in contact with Nemi, Doc, and Kold but Decapo for whatever reason still holds everything against me and refuses to keep contact, its all good homie, holla atcha boy!

In 2004 I did a 'Sunkist Sunlab Tour' with 92.3 the beat at the time and met Scipio and Ghetto Blacc in the process. Me and Scip developed a good relationship and we've stayed in contact since. In 2005 I was doing my independant thang tuff in which I was doing at least 1 show a week for about a year striaght! During this time I met some of my closest homies till this day including SUPe and Tek. I also met big C-Style outta my city and knew that I was in the right place. Around the same time my boy DJ SkiMask told me that an upcoming label was looking for an artist and I should give him a call. So, I called this cat named 'Cleo' and we talked and before I knew it I was signing a 3 year deal with an Indie Label outta North Cali named NuSkool Records. In the beginning everything was good, I was flown here and there, recording at high end studio's, I recorded tracks with producers like Emmanual Dean (out of Dre's camp) JellyRoll, and Tony Pizarro (2pac's Dear Mama). At the time I was feeling good about everything, it seemed like I was about to blow...then, a year passed, then two, then three...

This is where I'm at now. Three years has passed and my 'label' (radiovoxrecords) promised me money upon the completion of my album which was completed 2 years ago and still is sitting on the project. So, me being me, I told the label CEO/Manager (which is a conflict of interest off top) told the people under him that he didn't want to talk to me anymore (Cleo). Me knowing my contract , I told the people next to him on the totem pole that I wanted to talk to him and he still refused to do so, as well as pay me the money due to me. I then sent him an e-mail saying fuck you and everything you stand for, and, all the moves I've been making as of late have been my own. He's been sitting on my project for 2 years, hasn't got me any shows, refused to talk to me, and basically shitted on my name. So, I sent him an e-mail basicially telling him that I had nothing to do with the label and that I was independant. What he doesn't realize is that I've recently built a relationship with fellow Long Beach Reps. Crooked I, Techniec, E-White (recorded a track with), and LiL Bam. Also including Chino XL (just recorded a record with), Sly Boogy, Mykestro, Young Dre, and Young Maylay, Big- O, Dae One, and Focus, all on my own. As of now, I'm a free agent, I'm not throwing names out there to be on some stupid shit but to let people know that I'm real and only deal with real people from now on. Cleo (radiovoxrecords) is the definition of what a record label shouldn't be and I'm here to show the world what Hip Hop really is. Its not only music, its a culture! I'm here to preserve my culture and anybody standing in my way is gonna get hurt. Lyrically, Physically, or Mentally, I'm ready. My name is Kare-Less cause I can Kare-Less what people have to tell me, I'm here to speak up for my culture and I'm here to stay!... Get at me!
