ok thats that, darren just came up from california with the tb303 and we have rigged it up the last few weeks in a top secret tb revival operation out of the phage studio. 2 909s, tb 303, 202cv gated, korgmonopoly and other strange gear used for the original 1994 perceptrons release. This release sold 3000 copies in one week then through recordtime distribution thanks tto Dan Bell, and Claude Youngs help...that record was very minimal and we still dont even know why we released it going against the grain of rave anthems which were the norm at the time. but we did and it seems like the genre of minimal techno began getting moulded from that time on thanks to subsequent releaseds on basic channel who brought me to berlin that winter for small gigs around germany with brendan gillen (ectomorph) with whom i toured as teste. many more stories to come..
the first perceptrons non-toronto gig was Jason Huvare (PAXAHAU/ DEMF) and Tom 'acid pimp' Newman at the Shelter in Detroit where a marathon 4 hour acid techno set was banging in one of the best parties at the time. I owe so much to Jason and that night made it clear that music was a powerfull energy in this universe.
