Current mood:  anxious
My friends, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain. I have been thirsty lately for the perfect composition that may or may not be a cushion for my head. The sun hits the Ocean and reflects itself. This paradox of Social consciousness is at Its last straw, nibbling away on a plastic song, constipated in hope that Godot will come swishing through the clouds on that seventh trumpet. A scene of dead men writing songs for stockholders and buildings of metal soaking in that traffic of melody and chords. As the the late 60's revealed an era of music renaissance and the Democratic way,so History shall repeat itself, again and again.Am I bitter? The sea of change and the seasons of life only suggest that death and resurrection is a mystery and so complex that any attempt of unraveling could be a death sentence for sure. Why should I call radio and TV media companies and explain how dangerous it is to package a fad. I have been soaked in Its radiation and the wrinkles of my skin carry It's receipt. Nothing new,It's all ready been told. Pirates and slave traders dressed in suites promoting men with more expensive suites, and buying Plastic tanks with florescent headlight. As the singular breaks back unto It's perfect dual form, hunting itself down In a death match, gathering the towns people In a perfect TV show called 'Blood'.As the execution begins,One final scream cries out before Its transformation..."Viva la Renaissance"!!!!!.

This process is a mystery to me because frankly, life is unattainable..It's in this mystery of the unattainable do we finally arrive to the experience of surrender, that perfect release. The release of slavery and bondage, the changing of the guards. One can't help but to experience what the Pentecostals meant by being Born again by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit alone. Every person, no matter what background, race, religion, has a Divine right to reach his or her own spiritual peak here in the physical realm. The metaphysical process happens naturally do to the individuals own survival needs.Just like being underwater for too long, eventually you swim to the surface for air..The sea of change happens in waves and we are part of It's function .Frequencies, bells and whistles, cats, dogs, geese, hens and even Britney Spears are all interwoven and connected to this standstill race called Creation. This is not about our lack of free will,or a biblical theological standpoint,on the contrary. But a reflection of the Divine's cause in us,like some of your famous poets have said"We are his offspring" :)

In the Beginning,God had a dream to paint His masterpiece .I wonder about myself these days. Why am I in the Arts community. Why do I call myself a performing Artist? Through this competition we call the music business,The wild wild west as some friends put it. Why should we attempt to translate the complexities and eb and flows of life, when the money is in that 3 minute lovesong. What's in it for us? How do we pay our rent, feed our family? Why should we 'Go for broke'? The answer is simple, identity. We challenge ourselves to be brave enough to stand. We find inspiration in it and through it,inspire others to do the same. This butterfly effect eventually snowballs into a life of it's own, creating healing within the atonement process. The gathering of souls through Art. Like the sun reflecting on its Ocean, dancing back at itself, revealing it's own nature, dignified in Its new beginning....over and over again.

I believe we are at the beginning of a new era .We are at the brink of scientific developments that will change the way we function as a human race. Socially, politically and on an individual level we will experience major changes in the next 10 years. But what I'm really excited about is the changes that will take place in the Art community. How important it will be to those lost at sea, waiting for there stock to rise, wondering what happened to there 3 minute tune.As Hollywood takes it's bow,we will find children ,smiling, dancing,Dialing God.There's a train leaving tonight,It's the last train out of here,I don't know who's on it,not sure where It will take me,but It's got to be better then here. If you go after the flesh, you'll receive the flesh, If you go after Spirit, you'll receive momentum. "Viva la Renascence!!!!!!!"

Steven,

All I can tell you is:
1. continue to play and write music and define success as doing what you love to do.

2. The world is NOT our home....we have a better place :)
3. There is NOTHING new under the sun---people are people and will have greed/jealusy and so on and so on until He comes again. God is consistent, never changing.

keep the momentum!!!!

Tate

wow. Steve...you are amazing as ever...you are appreciated for what you see in everything, which comes through in your music and your words. You have always come across as a very intriguing personality, and genuine...but your wisdom at such a young age is what amazes me.
your friend, jenn

You are without a doubt, my brother. and your writings remind me of my sister too. www. nicolabeckles. com
Go...
You go after the Spirit..
Therein lies your strength.. lies you
The very you you were created to be.

There is such clarity and healing in that place.

We don't stay in it long enough most times BUT
That is changing..
We've been asleep for far too long almost deadlike..
But He can resurect the dead can't He?

You are welcome in Hollywood my brother.. any time..
And if you are in England.. you can look up my sister too.
:)
Be encouraged. I'm glad you're writing.

Maybe pray I'll do the same?

What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? It's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.

I'm very captivated by your writing ..style.. and (of course) what you're saying. It's great to hear a voice that sounds unafraid and untainted by the pressures of the great wave of conformity. Have you listened to Procol Harum (the great band from the classic rock days that gave us 'A Whiter Shade of Pale')? Many of your phrases remind me of lyricist, Keith Reid's words. I'm looking forward to your CD.

God bless.

Stay real.
