LOCAL GOSPEL MUSIC NEWS:
Wally Holland, husband of lead singer and manager Diane Holland of the popular Douglasville-based Christian Heritage gospel group, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning at the age of 54. He did have successful surgery to remove a benign tumor from his brain in August, and was just cleared to drive again. An aneurysm was not ruled out, but the examiner said the way the body fell it appeared to quite possibly have been a heart attack. Wally was the pastor at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Winston, Ga., about 20 miles west of Atlanta, and was the sound man for Christian Heritage. Funeral services took place at the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home in Dallas, Ga. on Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in the memory of Wally be made out to Christian Heritage or Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in care of Diane Holland; 6251 Melrose Dr.; Douglasville, Ga. 30134.
