Who Gives Kudos:

Our Friend Shawn at Paddy Whacked Radio has posted this blog on his myspace page.
So to share the wonderful news, and to spread the good news, we felt that the least we could do was to post it on our blog also.

Good Luck Shawn at your new home at CAM radio.

Hi all,

Ok... First the news, then the explanation:

Paddy-Whacked Radio&trade has found a new, legal webcasting home!!! Well, actually, a webcasting home has found me! :)

I will be webcasting weekly from CAM Radioin North Andover Massachusetts!

Here's the skinny:

North Andover CAM Radio is a community access radio station broadcasting on Community Access Channel 22 in North Andover MA. and streaming over the internet. Our volunteer DJ's run the gamut of ages, backgrounds and musical genres and thats just how we like it!

CAM radio has all the necessary copyright licenses, and is working toward a full FCC FM broadcasting license as well. PWRadio will stream into their servers where it will make its home.

Go on to their Myspace page and make friends. They're good people. :)

I want to thank an old friend of mine, Sean O'Brien, for happening across my dilemma and emailing me almost out of the blue with this opportunity.

Sean is overseeing the Cam Radio operation along with a team of youths who are all enthusiastic music and radio fans.

As a note, Sean played for a long time with the "Honorary Irish", former Boston, current California based band, Willard Grant Conspiricy. He was also the driving force behind the legendary Boston band Curious Ritual, and voted one (or more) year(s) as Boston's best guitarist. This guy could pluck a power chord and bring down a block of buildings!! I've seen it.

He also replaced Reeves Gabriel on tour with the Bent Men one year when Reeves and David Bowie were out gallivanting with the band Tin Machine.

Sean was my main influence in picking up and learning the guitar, which was a strong impetus in my falling in love with music as an art. So even though we've been generally out of touch for a while, in a very solid way, and with a HUGE full circle, if I hadn't met Sean 20 years ago, there would be no Paddy-Whacked Radio!

Freaky, eh?

Keep your eyes on the blogs and bulletins as we suss out a schedule and listening details. It is looking like Monday mornings 9 to 11 or 10 to noon (Boston time),with some scheduled rebroadcasts, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Thanks again to EVERYBODY who listens to and supports both the radio show AND the podcast. This thing is an amazing load of fun. :)

ROCK! Hey, if it wasn't for the Mary Janes, there'd be not me much of a PWRadio, so THANK YOU! I wish I had the chance to see the MJs when I was in Dublin. Alas, not meant to be.

It was an honor, however, to do a couple of DJ gigs at the Druid pub in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the same stage area that I saw Mic play live years back!

Thanks again,

Shawn
