We have seen for far too long that people and bands tend to solely follow trends. We have witnessed real bands fall and not become "successful" because they do not fit the trends. Well, we are here to tell you this. We will not conform, we will not sell out, and we will not break up just because we aren't as popular as the bands that can't actually play their own songs..

We write real music! We write with emotion, we write with effort, we write with talent, and we put every bit of ourselves in everything we do. We write music that we can play live as well, and we write it on our own!! We don't write music with a 13 year old girl in yellow pants in mind..(sorry 13 year old girl in yellow pants that is reading this, it's nothing personal) We write music that we want to show the world. We write music that we want people to know and to feel. We want people to understand us through our songs, and we put all of us into everything we do.

We don't care if we ever become a "successful" band.. We know that we have effected people in their lives with our music before and we are going to continue doing it, and that is success to me. We are fighting hard to get back on our feet, and when we do everyone will know the message that we are trying to spread. Hate, anger, jealously, envy, and everything else of that nature are pointless. We want people to appreciate each other for who they are.. Treat people with respect because there just isn't a valid reason to act otherwise. I guess being mean or rude to people may be "cool" but who is the judge? I think everyone deserves respect because everyone can do something amazing.

A couple more things:

First, when you get a comment/message/etc. from Alyria it is a member of the band actually typing out a message to you. We don't use bots and we don't have people representing us on myspace either. Second, we DO NOT use a play count generator.. we never have and we never will. Congrats to the bands that have gotten signed off of faking plays, but we won't be taking that road. Lastly, we just want people to appreciate real music! We want you to listen to a song and really honestly listen to it.. Read the lyrics and try to understand what those guys or girls put into that song because it is something worth appreciating!

Thanks!
Tyler Dishman

I think it's good you guys know what music is about, not just playing to satisfy trends or any of that crap.
Its funny though you mention Oceana, because they just broke because of the pressure the music industry put on them.
Don't let it sink its teeth into, and don't be cornered into a genre.
Keep making the sick music you show us.

It's really cool that you guys know what music is supposed to be about. It's really sad that there are these bands out there that have potiential fall apart because of the industry. I'm really glad you guys are not going to let happen to you. Good job!

That's great guys, It made me really sad to see what Oceana decided to do, because I can tell yall are making this blog to a reference of what they did, and i can tell because it shows yall were listening to them when ya'll wrote this blog and seeing as i said in the first blog ya'll made for the new songs, that the songs and lyrics reminded me of new Oceana, because they're my favorite band, but seeing ya'll say this makes me happy because ya'll are doing the right thing.

Respect as always. I have always seen you guys as a "better" band than others. Live show after live show. Always impressing. Bringing everything to the table. Never letting anyone else make you who you are.

you speak nothing but truth man. there are so many small bands that are/were different and deserved to make it big but never did and never will because of the trends. copycat bands, with mediocre performances and hardly any originality seem to rule. many of them really young and only popular because they have a million friends who aren't really friends and they're "pretty". i'm happy for them and all, but i'd really rather see actual talent get noticed. people who have something to offer and something to say. not just pretty faces.

with that said, i'm really glad you guys notice this. you'll ovbiously be much happier with your music and as a band, doing what you want to do. my friends The Cover Up had the chance to be signed a few times within the past 6 years or so, but it would have interfered with their style so they kept saying no. i'm really glad they did. especially because the labels were like "oh you're good but you need to sound more like linkin park. then we might take you". yeah. they sounded nothing like linkin park. wtf right? *sigh*

keep on doing what you do guys. dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

fucking legit! my band is the same way. we havnt gotten as big in our local scene because we dont have tons of breakdowns. We are mainly instrumental and just want people to interpret our songs into their own personal lyrics. keep doin what you guys are doing! fuck fake plays and being big on myspace.

Thank you for being totally real and not giving a shit about what people think, as long as the people who like and understand your music are beside you, which will be mostly forever because you kick so much ass, but you will be successful, and thats coming from someone who understands how cynical and judgmental people are with heartfelt lyrics

well, since you guys put your hearts out and put so much into this, i bet some record company is going to sign you ( not that getting signed is too much of a big deal) but you get what i mean? hehe, you guys are one of the coolest bands i know, because you actually care deeply about the fans. Your music is good,  I hope you guys come down to New york, where i live to play a show. I got about ten of my friends to listen to you guys. Take care, and you guys are young and from the looks of it; You guys are going to have a great future with the band, and music itself.
