Inner Torment
By: Jennifer Christain W.
Nothing at all she reveals in those eyes of hers,
Nothing that anyone can see.
No one can solve her puzzle to her satisfaction.
Not even she.
She can't control how she feels.
Fails at every turn in her mind.
Watch the winds blow faster,
as she attempts to climb.
Those slippery rocks cut her every chance they get.
As she climbs to something scarily unfortold.
Barley holding on to the only thing she has.
The shattered remains of distant shining hope.
Chased by the shadows of the accusing
Into the unknown.
Tears stream down her once smiling face,
As she re-lives her past with hate.
Forever cursing the mistakes she made in innocence,
the ones she vowed she wouldn't make again.
now playing a bitter fool in climbing this slippery slope,
the bites of the mocking elements always ones she would not have chose.
Up the pathetic hero goes.
Up a sorrowful mountain wall.
that must be climbed alone.
What a frightened look below would cost her,
as she knows she would fall in and be swallowed whole.
Her memories corrupting her every thought,
a bone chilling cold.
Her hands frozenly aching, Her body broken.
Yet she remains whole in her mind and soul.
For the memories of old have not caught up.
To demolish and destroy a future she doesn't know.
