Who Gives Kudos:

Monday, July 27, 2009

Right before we began recording "Does You Inspire You" we went on a tour of the United States in the summer of 2007, playing songs for the first time in front of folks in cafes, rollerskating rinks, lakeside BBQs, mountain resorts, local news stations, sculpture gardens, garages, decrepit basements, lesbian bars, and sometimes inside of proper venues.  Our first show of that tour was in Brooklyn at a small art space.  I've been too (2) busy to (2) take the time to (2) count all those shows until NOW - I just walked into our hotel room in London, ate some sunflower seeds, and looked at our past dates starting from that first tour, and after playing Secret Garden Party earlier tonight we've hit exactly 221 shows since that tour in '07.

On that note, I'm announcing 2 things (2 being the theme of this blog post).  ONE - We've added 47 shows to the rest of 2009.  TWO - Chairlift's 222nd show in 2 years will be at All Points West Festival on August 1st.  We should call this upcoming tour..."Does Two Inspire You"  (That's two paragraphs, at 222AM London time, and 222 words.  Seriously you can copy this into a word document and if you have Microsoft Office Word 2.2 the word count is officially 222)  I love you two.

Nothing is better than 222.

8+1+2+00+9=20=2+0=2

And nothing is better than you.

Radii at 0° and approximately 222.49° divide a circle in the golden ratio.

See you in a few hours...
