In its last throes, the Bush/Cheney Administration has launched yet another attack on wolves in Greater Yellowstone -- re-packaging a proposal that could lead to the slaughter of as many as 1,000 of America's most iconic wild animals.

Tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that you think our wolves deserve a lasting future in the American West.

Take action now at http://action.defenders.org/1008nrwolvesact.

After several bloody months of wolf killing in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, a federal judge ruled that the Bush Administration's original proposal to remove Endangered Species Act protections for the region's wolves was flawed and reinstated federal protections until the Administration came up with a better plan.

Now the Bush Administration is launching a last-ditch attempt to re-package and ram through a plan that could lead to the slaughter of as many as two-thirds of the wolves that live in the Greater Yellowstone area.

Don't let them get away with it. Urge federal officials to come up with a plan that ensures responsible and balanced management of our wolves.

Speak out for wolves at: http://action.defenders.org/1008nrwolvesact

In the last two years, caring people like you have sent tens of thousands of messages, made thousands of calls, and donated to help us fight the Bush/Cheney Administration and their allies in court, educate the public and support wolf-saving efforts in the field.

We need your help again now more than ever and we don't have much time. The Bush Administration is only accepting public comments until Friday, November 28th, so please take action now to stop this audacious 11th-hour sneak attack on our wolves at:

http://action.defenders.org/1008nrwolvesact

Thanks for making a difference for wolves,

Leslie and the rest of Defenders of Wildlife's online team
Daniela

I'm so sick and tired of this, soon to be former, Bush Administration's blood thirst for wolves. DON'T YOU GET IT? We love our wolves, they are beautiful, socially complex creatures that deserve better. Thank God Palin didn't get near the White House, otherwise the entire wolf population would likely be decimated. The wolves in Yellowstone are good for tourism, why do you want to butcher them? Obviously, there is some kind of financial gain, otherwise they wouldn't be fighting so hard to slaughter them. SHAME ON YOU! This mentality of "Kill em All" does not fly, and we will fight for our beloved wolves. Thanks Defenders, your organization is really trying to keep our icons alive and thriving. That is why I support you finacially and hope others do the same.

Regards,
Dani

I took action to help stop them as I have done in the past, I also have my page set up showing I'm a lover of Wolves and trying to get the message out to anyone that views my page. The Wolf is my Animal Totem along with the Hawk, and I will do what ever I can to try and bring it to every ones attention how important it is to save our wildlife and stop the needless killing of these Majestic creatures.

In Australia we share your frustration with government politics except that we got the dingo taken off the pest nusience register and placed on the threatened and endangered list... Its a small start for the Dingo but we have a long way to go...... Dont give up take heart that you have lead the way and given a voice to a animal that would otherwise not have one... You guys ROCK!!!!!

As a society, are we so blind to all the beautiful creatures that we have already robbed our children of due to greed. I am in awe that our publicly elected officials are still so narrow minded and blind to the delicate ecological system that God set in place. With every detail carefully planned out in the wild the only unbalanced parts of the planet are all caused by man. I am afraid to see the day when it is not a choice to act responsibly but a requirement. How much of this beautiful earth and it's beautiful creatures will be forever lost on that day? And how much of a chance will mankind have for survival at that point? Won't we just be struggling to breathe and eat at that point? Won't we then be set back into such primitive survival modes as the very animals we think we are so much greater than? If you read these blogs ... make a choice as to whether to be a spectator or make a committment to act... without action everything else is just a wish.
