It would be wrong to single out Japan for its fascination with Americana; Scandanavia has a love affair with all things '50's and American, tho' they focus more on vintage cars -- tail-fins and Elvis.  But they Do Things Differently in Japan. Amidst a general obsession with American style, there's a Japanese sub-culture that fetishises American cops (power, uniforms, weapons, violence, multiple-hamburger addiction, &c.)

This is a real magazine (lest you think it's a put-on) with a cover depicting a typically elegant American Peace Officer in mid-feeding frenzy before running amok with other "Wild Mooks".

SWAT!!

I Hope that's a DIET Coke!!

However, I do approve of the root beer hidden behind the burger towers!

So you should be able to tour the States now. The hamburger-addicted Wild Mooks must be slow on their feet.

Looks like your typical Canadian border guard or cop.  Only time they use the siren is to hurry through the drive through lines

Either way, one sleeps soundly in one's bed, knowing the thin (?) blue line is there to Serve & Protect. "Serve up 12 mo them cheeseburgers."
