The Cowboy Jack Clement Show
Sold Out!
If you're ever in L.A. and can make the time to go see the Getty, do yourself a favor and do it. It is remarkable! I always love playing with the Cowpoke. He's my pal! You can count on Cowboy to always have a good band with him. This time Billy Burnette was there with his j-200 and Bobby Wood played piano. Jack brought a new rhythm section in for this show. Dave Kemper on drums and Taras Prodaniuk...great players. Cowboy did a great show. I like to see him shine and he did Friday night. Don Robertson was there to see the show. He is a great songwriter with a lot of classic hits to his credit. It was an honor to see him again. After the show we all went out to eat at a little place just down the street from the getty. Billy Burnette, Barbara Orbison and her son Roy Orbison Jr., Cowboy Jack and Aleen Jackson. Michael Rhodes was there. He just happened to be in town recording an album with someone. The lady who wrote the movie "Thelma and Louise" was there. My songwriting/acting buddy Patrick Dolleghan was hanging out with us too. We had a good time.
Then, when we left there Billy Burnette, Jack and Aleen, Carla and I went up to the penthouse bar of the Holiday Inn. When the elevator doors opened, there was a crowd of crazy young girls and boys dancing up a storm on the dance floor...and Cowboy Jack just instantly went into some kind of Travolta type dance thing and just danced right into the the crowd. It was like a movie. The people just parted outta the way and the girls all got a kick out of him getting in there with them. Jack Clement is one hell of a dancer. He used to be an instructor at the Arthur Murray School of Dance in Memphis, so he's light on his feet. It was quite a party to behold. He glides like Fred Astaire! But, he looked a little bit like Rodney Dangerfield with all those pretty young girls hanging on him. I knew I would be in for a treat if I made the trip to California with Cowboy...I was right!!!
