Current mood:  amused
so, just to let you know what i've been up to.

my warehouse has been undergoing a massive cleanup campaign in our back lot, stemming from an invesigation by the health department over it's (admittedly) gnarliness...

if you've ever visited my place, you can understand the levels of stress generated by this panic inducing scenario.

of course, our timeframe for dealing with this little situation spanned the holiday season, so i spent  my christmas and new years cleaning up trash,  going to the city dump,  various hellish "landscaping" activities, breaking my back hauling lumber and scrap metal...

also, the lovely san francisco weather made this a wonderful task, as we slogged around in ankle deep mud during this whole process.

speaking of the weather,  the day after the inspection it dumped BUCKETS of rain here in the bay area. now, normally i like the rain (which is good considering where i live..) but i DO live in an extremely fucked up warehouse, and there happen to be huge holes (formerly skylights) in the roof  in my part of the building. imagine my horror to come home and find that my entire studio had been caught in a torrential downpour.

fortunately, most of my gear was packed up or at my girl's house (because it's been hell getting anything done at home)  let's hope my vintage sunn amp and my MS20 midi controller are ok, though.

not so fortunately, my roomate fell through the roof while trying to fix the problem. he's ok, though. lucky motherfucker.

speaking of the rain...some 14 million people (including us) were without power after the storms...more on that in a second...

yesterday, i finally managed to get the time to clean up much neglected studio so i could work on music. after spending all day cleaning, i made a sculpture for a friend's birthday, drank a shit load of brandy and went to bed with the intention of werking on music today.

so, with the aforementioned 14 million customers without power in northern california, the power company still had the personnel to send someone out to SHUT OFF THE FUCKING POWER TO MY STUDIO.

long story short, seems the neighbor i share a meter with didn't pay the bill.

after that, i decided  that the unending supply of anger i've had lately was finnally exhausted.

sooOOooOoooOoooooooo...

how were yer holidays(?)

on a much brighter note, i've been having very interesting dreams.

also, we're celebrating the 2 year anniversary  of our club night, which i consider a major accomplishment.

and finally,  i'm coming up on my 1 year anniversary with  the lovely deena yahiro, who should be considered for sainthood for putting up with my crap. i'm proud to announce that i'm still completely head over heels in love, as well.

ok...that's about it...

more news later about stuff...

well thats exciting in a not too pleasant but "good story to tell in 10 years" kind of way.

i experienced similar feats of peril in my new warehouse space that leaks like a faucet in front of my bedroom, which also happens to be right above our studio. shoveling water off of a creaky roof on the west side of chicago is not entirely awesome. but i kind of feel like the commander of a busted ass spaceship that has to keep docking on some broke ass planet for repairs...

we'll see how long that fatastical novelty lasts...

and i GUARANTEE you its at least 73 times more frigid in chicago than it is in SF, although not muddy, but WINDY like god keeps farting something fierce.

so i suppose i could say i feel a bit of your pain...and i say "hats off" to you and all those keeping the crazy art loft, warehouse, thing alive... somebody has to do it. might as well be us... why? like im ever gonna get a real job?

shizzaaaahh!!! hope youre well. come to chi when its warmer and we'll plug you in!! love to yalls.

This is why I hate California. A broke ass state will become desperate for money and just start throwing fines everywhere.

I'm sure the place is a mess, but is it their business?

Haha, it is.

Three cheers for you and your crew for keeping it going despite the storms and inspectors. I hope to visit this fine place someday.

I haven't been to San Fran in 14 years.
