...We shared with [Seal] that we better appreciated his song, "Love's Divine," when we heard a Filipina singer (Kuh Ledesma, take a bow) sing that ballad as her opening number in an LA concert a few years ago. From then on, every time we heard that Seal song on the radio, we paid more attention to it.
The muse
Kuh opened our ears to the song's themes of faith and inspiration. Since then, we've always wondered about Seal's muse for the song. He offered it to us: "It's about somebody who is searching and one time he and his companion were caught in a rainstorm—they had everything that they needed most which is love. They had a religious experience."
We hope he hears Kuh's version someday, we said to Seal. He asked for the spelling of her name. "Kuh Ledesma," he said several times, seemingly trying to memorize the name. "It is always good when somebody sings your song," Seal stated.
So what's next for him? "I'll prepare for the next album so it won't take four years again before I come up with a new one," he vowed with a laugh.
As we drove away from the villa and turned on the radio, guess which song came on? "Love's Divine," of course.
