Unfortunately, the reviews in Maverick Magazine aren't available online. Otherwise I could add a smart little link. Just like that. It is a pretty cool magazine though, so you can check out subscription info, etc. at www.maverick-magazine.com.
Anyway, here's what they had to say:
"Norma MacDonald, who for six years fromted a very successful Canadian folk act called Highland Heights, has now released Nothing is Where it Was, her solo debut. Although her folkie background can be detected in such tender ballads as Lost in Boston and Floodgates, there is more vocal edge here, with hints of rock and twang in Two Dollar Bill (Ruth Minnikin adds accordian flourishes and background vocals)and Wide Awake (with some fine pedal steel buried in the mix)."
"Having Grown up in Cape Breton you'd expect a Celtic influence, but what we have is an earthy country approach from another excellent and talented Canaidan lady."
Cool...
