Who Gives Kudos:

Hello friends, here is a small gift to you : a real gem from Serge and Jane, recorded as an advertising for a radio show in the early 70's, and released on a mega rare 7" in 1983 only. Please enjoy...

Another gift : A blatent proof that JB was on the decline in the middle of the 70's... He was giving a performance in Kinshasa, Zaire, during the legendary boxing match Muhammad Ali Vs. George Foreman, found a few afro albums from the Equatorial Africa region, and came back to his studio full of new "ideas". The result is a complete lift from the Cameroonese artist Tala Andre Marie taken from his (now) cult album Hot Koki...

A trip to Bollywood : let's enjoy this funny lift from Kraftwerk's red LP done by brothers Kalyanji and Anandji on Haadsaa, a soundtrack they released just a few years after the German album !

Yes, sometimes Indian composers take their influences in the Western repertoire, but sometimes Western producers are caught red-handed. For instance, Dr Dre and his crew have made a nice hit out of Bappi Lahiri's "Todha resham lagta hai" (sung my Lata Mangeshkar), but they have been sued...and they lost their case.

You may know that reggae groups commonly covered classic soul tunes. The reverse process is less known but...here are two funky versions of a cult reggae track... The first one appears on an album by the Chequers, a band from UK and the West Indies, the second is taken from a German album by St Lucia singer Malcolm Magaron, featuring Dieter Reith on organ and Peter Herbolzheimer on arrangements. Needless to say that these two LPs are really rare !

Yes, believe it or not, Vladimir Cosma not only used to listen to Marvin Gaye, back in 1973, but he also found lots of inspirations...
