Warning: All blogs
from here on out this summer will be written by the band under the influence…
Hey y’all,
So we kicked off our tour this past week beginning with 5
days of shows—here’s some basic info. and the highlights:
We started on Wed. playing in the Hamptons at Stephen
Talkhouse with Apache Stone. We
had a blast hanging out with our new Irish friends, Snow Patrol is very
good. Thursday we played The Zen
Bar in Farmington, where we harnessed our Chi. Friday we played at the End Zone in Putnam Valley. The Red Wings lost the Stanley Cup—Will
was sad, I laughed. Saturday, we
rocked out with Rhode Island & won the battle of the bands (props to
Sidewinder). Sunday we got pulled
over for speeding, get lost twice, but eventually made it to the Dover Bowl
Entertainment Complex where we went on rides and played our tunes.
Our first experience on the road was great except for
Will—he’s an asshole. We drove
many hours between CT and our shows.
Our first night in a motel was at The Rodeway Inn in Rhode Island where
we ended up taking over an iHop (the diner extension of Apple’s empire).

Blake’s Gear of the Week: Guild
Paloma
The nylon-string SC3 Paloma was developed by Guild's R&D
staff at the Custom Shop in Nashville, in collaboration with Fishman
Electronics. The Paloma’s Mahogany body features a proprietary set of tone
chambers and a solid Spruce top, which combine to provide a rich nylon-string
timbre and long sustain at any volume level. The Paloma’s neck has 15 frets clear
of the body and a 20" fingerboard radius, combining the feel of a
classical with the reach of an electric.

Hungry Monkey:
A breakfast to be remembered.
Set on a charming street of Newport Rhode Island, we walked into this
fine restaurant because of it’s kickass name and jovial monkey mascot. An
inspiration to the restaurant industry!
I want a monkey…
