Welcome to our June House Concert Newsletter. If you haven't been to one of our House Concerts in a while, you are missing some truly great music and some very entertaining evenings. We hope to see you at an upcoming show sometime soon.


*** OUR MOST RECENT SHOW ***

Our May 9th House Concert with Maria Dunn and Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements was a whole lot of fun. Tracy Newman and her band started the evening. Tracy's great songs were performed by Tracy on vocals and guitar, Gene Lippmann on harmony vocals and guitar, Lorie Doswell on harmony vocals, Gary Popenoe on harmonica, and the legendary John Cartwright (who played 30 years with Harry Belafonte) on bass.

Then we were all treated to an enthralling set of music by Canadian folk artist Maria Dunn who had the whole audience mesmerized. Maria's blend of Celtic flavored folk songs combined with her wonderful stories and truly beautiful voice made for a great finish to another enjoyable evening.

This is a very cute song about carpooling that was written in memory of driving carpool for her teenage daughter. Anyone who has ever driven a carpool should appreciate it. Thanks to our friend Ron for video taping and posting it.


*** OUR NEXT HOUSE CONCERT ***

On Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 8:00 P.M. we will be hosting a House Concert for Rosemary Butler and Friends. This show is now FULL and we are starting a Waiting List, so if you are interested in attending and not already on the RSVP list, please email us about the Waiting List.

ROSEMARY BUTLER has sung backup on tours and/or recordings with Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Dolly Parton, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Bob Seeger, Sarah Brightman, Julio Iglesias, Aaron Neville, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Bette Midler, Vanessa Williams, Neil Diamond, Roseanne Cash, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Andrea Bocelli, Dan Fogelberg, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jimmy Buffet, Emmylou Harris, Ray Charles, and Rod Stewart among many others.

Rosemary’s all-star band for the evening will include Freebo, George Friedenthal and Maitland Ward.

The suggested donation for the evening is just $15 per person, payable in cash at the door. All the money goes to the performers. We will also have our usual "potluck" style coffee and dessert buffet. The show is called for 8:00 P.M. Doors open at 7:30 P.M. For those who are attending on June 20th, we suggest getting here on the early side because it will be a very full house and standing room only. If you are on the RSVP list and won't be able to make it, please let us know ASAP so that we can accommodate others.

The LA ACOUSTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL is this coming weekend, June 6-7 at the Santa Monica Pier with performances by Nanci Griffith, Bruce Cockburn, Natalie MacMaster, Richard Thompson, The Kingston Trio, David Bromberg, David Lindley, Jimmy Lafave, Eliza Gilkyson, Slaid Cleaves, Joel Rafael, Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, The Refugees, Stonehoney and more! This event benefits the California Acoustic Music Project, an organization that brings artists into CA schools to ensure that every student gets the experience of music instruction.
