Current mood:  tired
Oh poor neglected blog. The past few months have been so busy that whenever people ask me what I'm up to I don't know how to answer them. It's really quite strange--as if my head is in so many places that I can't figure out how to summarize what I've been up to, or even where to begin.

Nevertheless, in spite of my silence, I have been busy, and hopefully soon all of this business will come to fruition and there will be new music for you to listen to.

Actually there are already some tunes from the cast recording of 1918: A House Divided up on the show's Myspace page. We're putting together the artwork so hopefully soon we'll have some very pretty discs in our hands for those of you who like to hold pretty discs and mp3s on itunes, et al for those of you who like pretty digital files. :)

Let's see, I also wrote a song for Barbara Kahn's new show, Ghosts of 14th Street, which opens in March. It's a very funny script--lots of fun.

I also have my second show with Petra Haden at the end of the month. We're doing a song from the new album of movie soundtrack songs that she's working on as well as material from the rest of her catalog. I must say that I've heard several tracks from the record she's working on and it is simply incredible. Singing with the Sellouts has really inspired me to think about singing and music in new ways.

I'm also making slow but steady progress towards the new record. I have lots of decisions to make still about what songs to include and what exactly I want this record to be about. For some reason I'm being terribly precious about this set of songs--maybe becuase they were generated during such a tumultuous time, and I know that at some point I need to just go for it and let 'em rip....soon.....soon!

Then in June/July *V*I*R*G*O* and I are hoping to collaborate on some things before he moves to Amersterdam. How's that for a project deadline? We've been talking about collaborating on an electronic project for quite awhile now and I'm really excited about the possibilities. I recently acquired a Zoom H2--fantastic little digital recorder with built in mics that sound like a dream, so I'm going to start bringing it around to sample things.

And now I should really make myself a cup of tea and get some sleep.

Have a good night.

xxoo,
Allison

You forgot to add "dusting your butt," wait, I mean "busting your butt."

Hey, I am so in love with my Zoom H2! That thing rocks beyond belief! I used to carry around a Sony Minidisc, but the components were too delicate for long term use. Congrats on your new acquisition, and have fun!

How's it going? Is the recording project done? Sounds like all wonderful things.

Hope all good....
