"The Show That Was Too Good To Be True"

Dear friends, it is with heavy heart I report the death and loss of a friend,  a one of a kind band named the Hidden Hand. To the uninitiated I feel sympathy for you. To witness the rise of this band was akin to witnessing the rise of Clapton & Cream as well as Hendrix and the Experience. There just was no equal in terms of virtuosity and relevance in this day and age. For what ever reasons, just before what could have been a landmark show with Clutch at the Bowery Ballroom the band decided to call it quits. We at the Mission respect the bands privacy and care to know no more than this.  The loss of the this mighty trio bears down on the Mission in a cacaphony of ways. Most obviously,  we had booked a tremendous show featuring the Hidden Hand and NJ Doom luminaries Solace as well as Black Irish and John Wilkes Booth, a couple of really cool regional bands we feel strongly about. The show was booked at the historic Brighton Bar, a great Jersey Shore club and friends of the Missions and the flyer was put together by myself and Daryl Kahan, guitarist vocalist of Funebrarum/Abazgorath, a great, great graphic artist. This flyer  was one of our best in our estimates as was the potential for this show. But alas, the future has proven us wrong and conspired to not let this show go on as planned. But we at the Mission are as stubborn headed as they come and after many a years of studying showbiz recognize the only true maxim of show business is 'the show must go on'. So it is without further adieu we bid to the Hidden Hand farewell and invite all Ye' disciples of the Hand to come join us September 1st, 2007 at the Brigton Bar for a funeral for a friend. Bands looking to contribute to this event please inquire within.

Blessings,
the Mission(Dane)
