How often do we find ourselves languishing in the problems of our pasts... so much so that we forget that there is a tomorrow coming and waiting. What are you stuck in today? How can you release yourself from that trapped feeling so that you are even able to see tomorrow? Below is a poem I wrote expounding on that feeling. You can also hear it on myspace.com/ramblingsrantingslamentations.

PLEASE SHARE YOUR FEELINGS! Tell us what you're feeling and give us some pointers on how you can and will change that feeling!

doubletime

move
maneuver beyond this minute
and into the next
quickly
and
quietly
carefully
run
trace the trail emblazoned by
those who came before
doubletime
run

the world is after you
and before you
surrounding you
trapped you in this moment
you forgot to keep going
you forgot to keep growing
your root
rut
dug deep
feet planted in promises broken
tomorrow's not promised
yesterday is but a moment
melted into the fabric of time
and it is over
tomorrow is waiting
whispering
doubletime
run

reach forward
and find your fingers
wrapped around forever
and never
never
existed until you echoed it
across your tongue
time has erased parts of you
past punctured
present pierced
daggers
back bone bent
breaking
bowed
to the now need for nothing
but something
a need for more than the shell
the coverings
masks made up to minimize the fact
that there is need for something
stirring in your soul
and fragments of you fiber
flickering embers of your whole
doubletime
run

the flames will find you
and consume you
capture you
cement you in today
place your tomorrow
on perpetual pause
and burn your dreams
into charred souls
and ashes
and answers mean less
than the questions
how long have you been standing still
how long have you been waiting
here
doubletime
run

move in mystified miracles
mind manipulate your dreams
into seeds
your seeds
into sprounts
your sprouts
into trees
leave this moment
your place is in tomorrow
and it is calling
begging you to come
run
move
maneuver
beyond this minute
that has you plastered in the pain of your past
eyes glazed over with gory details
heart peeled raw
exposed soul
half whole
hoping
needing
the
completion
waiting
in
tomorrow
run
