When I read that Wes and Robert have given their blessings, then maybe I'll be interested in it (odds are no anyway - I just don't care for remakes that much. Would rather have a new, original "Freddy" story, that involves both Wes and Robert).

 

He's against the remake because he's not GETTING PAID and was screwed over by his best bud at New Line.... he wasn't against remaking his own movie that he said he'd NEVER revisit (Last House). Go follow blindly....
 

Well obviously Platinum Dunes is way more honorable then Wes Craven. They're clearly NOT in it for the money. They corner the market when it comes to originality. Oh, but they lied about Robert Englund not wanting to be Freddy. But other than that, I should be following Platinum Dunes BLINDLY like the people supporting this remake.

Being a HUGE fan of these horror franchises, I passed on the new Friday the 13th. All I saw watching the promo was different actors, playing parts that already been played before (and well, I might add). I don't see the point. Why not just make a new Friday the 13 movie, with a fresh script / new story? Maybe something that picked up after Freddy Vs.
Jason?

FYI: For the most part, I see no originality in all these prequels / remakes. Rehash. You got better cameras, and special effects now then you did 20 years ago. Does that mean just because it could be done, that it should? Especially when the main people in the original flick are still alive and plenty kicking. Let me remind you, Wes and Robert are Nightmare On Elm Street. Having lots of cash, and Freddy's red sweater, isn't all this is going to take to make this legit (with some of us fan anyway).
