time measured between the ticking of a clock
each second
a perfect mirror of the last

but time itself
and here is the "what if"
what if time is actually something
more on the nature of fluid
within an ocean or sea of thought

and we see
we look and say one second
is the same as another

but what if two seconds ago,
that second held 20 buckets of time
while this second
this very second
holds only 2?

(i can easily tell you that my time in school
was four times the length that doesn't see a classroom)

because we are measuring something we CAN'T SEE
quantifying something we can't count

and you have to understand
that the only point
is the depth of quiet you can find
when staring at a single percentage
of exponentially dancing inscecurities

what "time" it occupies unlimited
the life we hold there

real

what if in this next hour
i get an ocean of time to swim my thought
perversely home

in our mostly 2 bucket time
what if we have never seen a flood

what if the flood is coming

would you know by the tick of a second....a tool created to measure space

the anti-thesis of wrong, we still live according to the clock
birthed to throw our love
on coals of seed

to admit time is fluid would be to admit
thirst
is also

real

and that some die of it
long before the moon sets
on thundering graves

our worlds are nothing more than what we believe
the aspect of lonely
given the tireless answer
to always being right

Is this your next thesis. I can theorise it now in my mind. Your fractions and multiplications will triples before the ink is dry while all the learned theologists will scratch and study and proponder whether you've dscovered a new quantum theory

well, the only thing i would be capable of proving, is that the method of measuring time is completely inaccurate.  which it is....because we are using a machine originally fashioned to measure space.  it is done on the nature of the first speedometers.....

an increment was decided, and then they attached their new "measuring device" to a wagon, which they then road across the distance they wanted to "measure."

and although whatever increment decided upon is arbitrary, the ground which is covered for the most part stays as it is, and one can then determine TRUE distance per the number of increments counted off against the reality.  in other words....if we wished to decided upon a different increment, the ground doesn't change.  if they measure off in meters, and we measure off in feet.....the ground doesn't change.

but time.....simply changes, because we are not measuring anything that we can logically quantify.  all man's incremental measuring of time has done, is prove that there is an incremental pattern to the orbiting of earth and moon.  in other words, we got what we made.  and we didn't even do THAT accurately!!!!!!  if we had....there wouldn't be such a thing as a "leap year."  and so, even the design of orbital "time" is NOT an incremental property or element.  in other words, it is not ground.

it's like if you made an electrical lemon juicer.....and you juiced some lemons.  and you liked the noise it made so much, that you started using it even when you didn't have any lemons to juice.  and you found you could press a book on the top of it to make the same sound.  THAT is what our current measurement of time is like.

and the only thing it has accomplished.....is it has driven every human mind, from birth.....into CYCLICAL THINKING.  you don't have to "seize the day" because it all goes around in a circle for us.....tomorrow will be here just like today.  god bless gone with the wind.....that demonstrated the absurdity..... but not many heeded the lesson.  time does not go "around"....days do not go "around".....months do not go "around."

and as far as accuracy goes....our forefathers had more accuracy, when saying something happened "2 moons ago".....or that they would meet you at "sun-up."  those were more accurate terms, than citing numbers.  and that's not me preaching....that's a fact.

so it's sort of the same theory, clarice.......in that abandoning our current "counting" of time, would be for the sake of making better use of it!  not trapping minds within the flames on a birthday cake.....for i believe the inaccuracies are a great contributor to "born misperception."  it is something you will see more in the youth (as we grow older, we wade through the bullshit).....they will believe that it is possible to APPLY properties of any sort to any item, with disregard for the relative factual nature of those items.  and this is where misconception blossoms.....in that these same, believe that in NAMING something equates to an UNDERSTANDING.

and those of us....especially ones exposed to the fun filled world of mental health....know this is simply not true.  just because you name something, like bipolar or schizophrenia....that does not in ANY way, mean that you UNDERSTAND it.  and that does not, in ANY way....mean that naming TWO DIFFERENT items as being bipolar, truly equates them in any true physical manner whatsoever.  and the basis of equating those, is upon yet another human perception....rather than even an incremental measurement such as we give time.  it's off even farther.....and yet spoken of as if "fact."  and in so doing that....man has "diluted" the nature of FACT.

he has mis-taught.

and there becomes a disrespect for absolutes....and a fundamental lack within the simple properties of discernment.  in other words....we get a people "ripe for the picking."  they make good suckers for buying what you want them to buy.....i hear the pharmaceutical companies are doing quite well for themselves.  and the medical industry altogether....is not exactly a business that has ever been hurting.  what is the BEST business ploy one can devise?  convince people they can't live without you.

and then, the medical business nudges arms with their buddies, the food industry.....and works to make that same populace believe that they can't live without oatmeal.  or that cherrios are a gift from god.  and then they nudge their other elbow with the cosmetics companies.....and suddenly you can't live without sunscreen.....even though any idiot should be able to understand that their grandparents and their grandparent's grandparents, somehow managed to exist without the "blessing" of a lotion that can now be proven to CAUSE skin cancer.

and thing is, clarice......this is all shit "they" know.....they know exactly how they are grooming the PUBLIC to fit their purpose.  and it's just good business.....but after 3 generations of the current applications of those principles....we are getting a people with VERY LITTLE ABILITY TO DISCERN REALITY.

it's not a big deal....except more and more are landing on a "mental health" system that can't figure out what went wrong, and is in league with the business of selling pills....which is part of the foundation of what has caused the wrong in the first place.

to say it's messed up, is the biggest understatement of the world.  more people need to be able to SEE.....and they don't know how to anymore.  i mean, a five year old....when i was five, i had the ability to realize that terms such as "cancer" and "flu" were just names that were given to ailments that appeared similar.  and i knew, at FIVE....that that didn't mean those using a name even REMOTELY understood the facets of what they were naming.  i knew that at 5....and we have a majority of adults running around, that don't understand that...at thirty and forty years old...their entire lifespan.  they don't get it.  they think because the rulers tell them they have "cholesterol" in their blood....that that means the world god created is trying to kill them....that everyone has this "poison".....and they don't realize that they might as well call it "jumbolia juice" or "frankenshit" and it is MADE UP.  ok?  they "discover" something, name it....and call it "fact."  but THEN they have to back track, and start saying that we have "good cholesterol" and "bad cholesterol"....why?  because some members of the food industry were suffering....so the "facts" on that were changed.  they want to sell their "cholesterol" medicine now....so the "cholesterol count" that is considered "healthy" has dropped significantly over the last few years.  it's all so fucking orchestrated.....and even with ALL that....you don't see people questioning.  BECAUSE THEY WERE TAUGHT NOT TO QUESTION.

and if i was running one of these great businesses.....i suppose i wouldn't give a damn.  i would want them to be all knuckled under, convinced that they couldn't live without my product.  so i can't really blame them for taking advantage, when the foundations of our very culture make it so easy.  but i CAN blame them for purposefully altering and shaping that culture, to better suit their need for profit....and i can blame them when some builds of mankind are susceptible to greater amounts of confusion....and wind up starving themselves, purposely throwing up....cutting their skin in every fashion imaginable.....and basically doing that which is against the very creed of LIFE, because they do not know how to express what they are seeing.  and they do not know how to compute, based on the "increments" our culture has given them, and forced upon the public as "reality."

so it all ties in together......and it's very trite to say that big business is the bad guy....but it is.  and the quickest way out, is for people to stop worshiping money.  the world we have created, is the world of Mammon.  and that god does not care about mankind, and does not make for a very good reality check.

I am absolutely fascinated by the concept of time.  I love how you have expressed it here.

thanks, Barbara.....people should be asking these questions, and even though current incremental measuring of our space is designated as time, that doesn't mean there are not benefits, and perhaps a necessity of some sort to "keep our clocks."  but i think it's also important for people to realize, that when time seems to be speeding up, or slowing down....that doesn't mean that they are crazy.  because real time, outside of the clock.....is a matter of relative perceptions....between the amount of thought, speeds of electrical impulses in the brain, and the comparison and contrast of that "processing time" to the physical properties of incremental space.

in other words, you CAN experience a lifetime in a minute....you CAN have your entire life flash before your eyes when you die......and you CAN watch time fly when you're having fun.  so what i would call "time" is not something that is relative to space.....but rather, something that is non-uniformly relative to speed and accuracy of individual brain function.

and it makes sense, then....that some have a more "consistent" dose of electrical activity....as compared to others.  so for some, time measured upon equal increments, is very close to their own reality.  but for some of us others....we might have a processing speed which varies, according to physical and/or mental influences.  i mean, we know some of us are not "morning people."  has anybody ever bothered to ask "why?"

and what mandate of nature, concluded for us that the proper time for sleep is at night?  why do i remember as a kid, having to rest my head on the desk almost every day of school, to get some reprieve?  in order for me to function at my best, it takes 10 to 12 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period.  and that is something that is actually on my chart, as a reason why i'm "mentally ill" and they have made "goals" to work me into a more "normal" 8 hour range.  now what in god's name makes them think i would be sleeping 12 hours, unless i needed it?

i used to fuss....get upset, that my body would decide it needed so many naps during the day......and grandma told me, very simply....you wouldn't be sleeping if you didn't need it.  so i knew....long before the "doctors" ever came around.....that getting enough sleep was a mandate of my physiology.  not some "symptom" that they need to "cure."

but see, they base this all on their "incremental measuring" of TIME.....and do not take into consideration that time for me, is different than time for them.  like just writing these last two comments here on this blog....is equal to about a week.  lol....and i'm serious.  but that's ok, because in spelling this all out within the boundaries of language and shared thought.....it gives me defense for those that wish to consider a difference in perception as a flaw in perception.  in other words....i'm right, they're wrong.....nannna nannna na!  *oh heavens*

Dammit! I wrote this great comment that the Spazz ate...blah!!
Anyhoo, this is fantastic, and I'm going to have a friend of mine read it, it sums up nicely, or rather opens up, the questions I was presenting to her last week....we were debating...i was frustrasted at how ppl bitch about time going by, and I got thinking, a year is so small....who decided it? lol, My thoguths were broader, but didn't want ot hurt your head.....I just think questions are what make us human...and yes. Time is just a word....

i hate when the spazz eats the comment.  it does that to me if i lose my internet connection while writing.....and what's retarded is they have engineered programming to save your emails as you write them, where there was much LESS incidence of accidental loss!  lol......another example of smart thinking by those in "charge."

and you hit the nail on the head....it's about asking questions!  and not enough even realize they are failing to ask.  the best feeling i ever had in MY LIFE was on a university campus....after a session of philosophy class, where a group of us students continued to discuss an issue as we walked out the door and over the bridge to the main campus.

and that is how you explore knowledge.....not by listening to "mandates" that some other individual may consider as fact.  that is not learning.....to learn, you ask questions.  and if you EVER find some "teacher" unwilling to stop and consider a question....that person is not teaching.  they are regurgitating.  they are simply repeating what they have been taught or memorized.  so they do not even have the framework, to be answering the questions.  and so, they will consciously or subconsciously, discourage any questioning.   true knowledge, is something you can answer the "whys" with.  and it's not some rabbit you pull out of your hat ....it's a tailored form of communication.

*sigh*  lol....i'm making things too complicated......but you are right, and following the correct forms of questioning.  and that's all i'm doing with a blog like this....and all my long drawn out comments.....am showing how much room we have for questions.  and one of the BIGGEST questions, is why don't we question?

No, you're not complicating it at all! This is exactly the point I was making to my friend...she says I think and wonder and question too much...not like I'm upset or anything...I just have this burning need to know, just, anything, everything...the differences in our oppurtunities in life being made apprent I suppose, the haves(her) and havenots(me) So, now that I'm an adult, I can choose, to ask, to know, to learn, to grow...I have to, or I'll wither. I love words, and want to write, but it's a neverending process, and so much I don't know. I see words in a new context in certain blogs, suxh as in Connie S', or Petra W's...and it facinates me...I go look up the possiblities of it right away...when I get to my 3rd round of higher education, it'll be what I wan this time...no harm in starting now, I say...She thinks I'm nuts. lol. S'ok, I can be nuts, but I'll be a knowledgable nut...LOL
WOW!! Bored yet???

oh i don't know if you noticed, but i totally ignore the shift key!!!!!  lol....i figure that it's invention's fault....here it is, 100 years later....and they STILL have found no better way, on an ELECTRONIC keyboard....but to go out of your way to hit a shift key when you want a capital letter.  i mean common....that was a design from the old clunker typewriters from a hundred years ago, and you would THINK we could do a little better than that by now.

and i get what you're saying.....and believe you have the right attitude.  knowledge is something you BUILD.  if you don't COMPREHEND the bottom foundations.......your "house" is going to fall apart at the first wind.  just having an "answer" is bullshit.....knowledge is having the "whys."  some of the best teachers you can get, will be physics teachers.  because it's almost impossible to teach physics, without a true understanding of what you're teaching.

and if learning were simply a matter of memorization.......we could take every bit of WIKI, put it on a computer chip, and insert it in your brain.  but that's never going to work.....why?

because part of learning....is being able to take elements of any given situation or person place or thing.....to take those, and COME UP WITH YOUR OWN ANSWERS.  and the first thing you have to do, to start coming up with your "own answers"....is to abandon the idea THAT EVERYTHING ESTABLISHMENT TELLS YOU IS THE WORD OF GOD.

i don't mind if they want to tell me, that cholesterol is bad for you.......but i DO want them to explain WHY and HOW does it even get into the blood stream from "cholesterol" you INGEST....when according to the physiology that I MYSELF studied.....according to the facts i was given.....everything we eat is digested and broken down into fuel.  we have enzymes to do this....and the liver makes a substance called gall that breaks the fats up into smaller pieces...it's like soap....so that the enzymes can get to it.  SO....i want to know how EATING cholesterol in ANY way, translates to HAVING cholesterol in your bloodstream.  because to get into your blood....that would have to mean that your body isn't breaking down the fats, and that you have like "super osmosis" in the lining of your digestive tract.  it doesn't compute....

and yea....asking questions can make you crazy.....and those who don't like to bother their brains to think......will be looking at you like you must be nuts.  why should they bother to think, when the ENTIRE world works to think FOR you.....

why would they lie to us?  well, what did YOU buy at the grocery store today?  there are three reasons for them to lie:  money, money, and more money.

remember that.....and there is a line to be drawn....between logical deduction, and "conspiracy theories."  you CAN'T let yourself be upset or enraged over what you see or can comprehend as the realities.....and just be aware that there ARE people who will sell their own mother for a dime.  there ARE people, that don't give a rat's ass what garbage they sell as truth to the public.....as long as it gets them what they want.

and if somebody sits there saying this and that is true (just because they heard it on tv or whatever) then see if they can tell you "why" or "how"......and they won't, unless it's something legit.  hell, we've got diet commercials saying that they "boost your fat eating enzymes"....lol....and there's no such thing!  lol....there is no such thing as "fat eating enzymes."  enzymes are what break down the food in your stomach, and turn it to energy.  what you don't use, is stored as glycogen.  and IF some product increases the breakdown of fat in your body....that would flood your blood stream with sugar, and put you into diabetic coma!  lol.....so even if that were possible, it's not something a smart person would want.  but because of that commercial, those who have not studied physiology, will be going around thinking they have "enzymes" that are sleeping on the job, and making them fat.  they will see a bottle of natural papaya enzymes on an herbalist's shelf, and think it's for losing fat.  but it's kind of the opposite....so that you digest food better.

and that's just one example....we get lied to ALL the time.  take ANY presentation of statistics....and i mean any.....and while looking at it, ask yourself what statistic they LEFT OUT.  that is the most common spin to create a public belief via statistic.  like when they came out with the study that a certain percentage of gay men were found to have the "gay gene."  what did they leave out?  any TRUE SCIENTIFIC STUDY would also have how many of the same number of randomly selected straight men....how many of those were found to have the "gay gene."  number one, if they didn't bother to have a "CONTROL GROUP," then their "findings" are invalid FROM THE VERY START.  and that number...how many straight men or straight women had the same gene....that number is important....and you can make a FAIR DEDUCTION that there was a significant enough number of straight men with the "gay gene"....that they chose to leave that information OUT of their report.

and then of course, there is the spin they do all the time with stats.....and since you are interested in WRITING....it's important for you to see the wording that they use.  you look for the words "more than" ...."less than"......you see, a person can say "more than 30% of the population doesn't wash their hands after going to the bathroom"......now that is done to make it appear alarming, or something that we should "care about."  but on a program trying to state how much better americans are doing....they would say it this way:  "less than 32% of americans forget to wash their hands....that is down from 37% last year."

ANY time you see, when noting statistics.....you see them presented this way.....you can say good-bye to reality.  and people will "say" that they are aware of how their news and all else has a "spin"......but they won't be able to point out the spin, let alone even really know WHAT a spin IS.  and here is the alarming thing:  we believe we are getting some sort of checking system on the news, because of all the different stations and channels.  but you can sit there watching EACH NETWORK do the SAME EXACT spin.  and that goes beyond coincidence......

but anywho.....what i'm trying to say.....is that sometimes it's not fun, being able to see all this.  sometimes having a brain that "thinks"....rather than just memorizing what it is told......sometimes that's hard, and it's not rewarded very much in our society.  at least not where i'm at.......i suppose if you hung out with folks that spent their holidays at art museums....

on the other hand...."to thine own self be true."  follow your education.....find some GOOD teachers.  you can tell the first day of class, if they have something to teach you or not.  if they do, stay in the class.  if they don't.....if they are more stupid then you were 10 years ago.....drop them like a hot potato.

if i had it to do again....that is what i would change.  i wouldn't have wasted so much time staying in a class because i "needed" it.  nobody needs to be thrown up on by a teacher, so that you can then throw up on a test, so that we can all pat ourselves on the back for how much we can consume and regurgitate.

remember....might as well just have an info chip in your head, if you're going to do that.  when you learn, what you are doing is EXERCISING your CPU.....and storing PROGRAMS to process information.  you are not just stamping information onto your hard drive.  any idiot can do that.

and believe it or not.....most often it's the ones flying through school with A after A.....those are the ones who are just memorizing and regurgitating.  and it gets pretty funny....because the ones believing they are the smartest, are usually dumber than dirt.  because gathering information is easy......it's APPLYING it.....that proves how much your noggin is worth.

hell that rhymed.....and i wrote half of this in my sleep, not sure why i got up, but need to crawl back into bed.  mostly wanted to say that knowing HOW to learn is important.....and the thing about that, is you will teach those around you how to learn, too....and how to set the switch in their minds to "think" ......it's the ONLY thing we have going for us right now.....if more people would learn to think, and process......then we really will have a future, because the person that is able to think, can do anything.  keep asking questions.....and don't take anybody's word for it....NONE!  the answer has to make sense....it has to compute.  if it doesn't, what good is something that is believed by 2 billion people....what good is it?  false is false....belief doesn't "create" something into truth.  and as far as questions when it comes to something like our "mass delusion" regarding time......seeing past what we are given, into the probable realities......is something we have a RIGHT to do.    there is even a psychological impact, between the differences when observing time on a regular clock face, verses noting it on a digital readout.  and the establishment KNOWS this.....why do you think most classrooms still keep the traditional clock face?

and i really do believe that time is something more akin to a fluid, rather than a type of measured distance.  i'll put off something and put off something....because i want to wait until i'm in the "right frame of mind" before trying to tackle it.  why?  i think it is because currently it is 5 bucket time, and i want to wait until it is 1 or 2 bucket time before tending to the chore, so it doesn't COST me as much.  and that's just a theory.....but at the VERY least.....i can say this outlook is MY idea, and not just something somebody else threw up on me.  and that's a good feeling.....and when i can sit here and say that i need to get my ass to bed within about 3 buckets.....that makes more sense to me, than some number some man printed on a dial way back when, after pronouncing himself god.

and if you get into numbers, with the arabic origin of our current numeric system.......i personally think the roman numeric system and the egyptian....are more accurate.  because 0 is not a number.  but the arabic system has allowed for all kinds of advanced math, so there is a positive.....and scientists will often work in a different base, rather than base 10 anyway.

it gets interesting.....and is why it's more important to have a well-rounded education, rather than trying to specialize off the bat.  like with history....you will find perspective, and realize that these decisions that were made, were done so by MEN.  people who have no greater right to the truth than yourself.  people that are NOT infallible.  it was decided by MEN that cars should have 4 wheels.  it was decided by MEN that buildings should be square.  it was decided by MEN....that parks should be covered by grass.......it was decided by MEN....that toilets should be just the right size for their smaller butts.

and it was decided by MEN that there should be 24 hours in a day.   and it was decided by men, how many grains of sand were equal to an hour.  at some point, somebody decided that....it didn't float out of the sky.  but you'd be surprised how many people do NOT process that reality.

i think we should change it......at the least, now that we have digital capability.....i think that on a monday, we could start the clock at zero.....and just have it go up until sunday.  then when you tell someone what time it is, it would automatically include what day of the week it is.

maybe that's a bad example....but the point is that there ARE other ways of doing things, and my last bucket has run out of juice.....so will end this long drawn out piece of whatever it is.

it's important to learn and question.....but life is about fun, too.......enjoy every day, every minute.....every bucket you can balance on your head *smiles*  *sets soap box back under her desk~bows*

i think it's because those with more "perceptual acuity" are able to process the question of "what time is it" FASTER when glancing at the positioning on a clock, verses reading and translating a digital readout.  but i do also believe, that there is a "psychological effect" between the use of the two forms.  and it would take a lot of study to determine, and you would need to experiment, and decide what factors you were looking for.  like, those who are more prone to "be late" to events.  or those that have better study habits....though you would have to define what that meant.  and you would need a few more behavioral characteristics.....um....like how fast someone eats?  how much time they give to random things.....like hesitations when entering a doorway.....things like that.  and THEN you would have to set up the experiment.  have a control group, where every bit and processing of time is random and just what society coughs up.  then have one group with entirely digital readout of their everyday time.  and a group with entirely clockface read out of their time....and these would include ones at home.  and you would have to the study over like 2 decades....from birth on.  should probably have a minimum of 50 persons per group.  and all would have to be very controlled environments, so that each group, aside from the random one.....were getting the same exterior effects other than those results we would be looking for.

and THEN....lol.....we could possibly be able to determine, if those on digital readout would tend to be on time more....or if a trait of being prompt is more likely to happen with those on clockface.  and same for study habits and yada yada.  THEN ....compiling the results, one might be able to make a determination upon which form of "time" is conducive to better living.  oh....and you also might want a group that has NO indicator of time involved whatsoever.  that would be hard to pull off....especially as they reached adulthood, and simple function within society.  but it could be interesting in testing results such as IQ and perceptual ability.

and what i'm saying....is i've been studying it myself my whole life....with just one test subject, me.  lol....and for some reason, i prefer to have a clock with a face and that "tics" within my living space.  and that's another element to clocks that you will see and is a factor.  sound.....if we have the sound ticking off....and have a conscious or unconscious ability to note the distance between those tickings.....it establishes a clock inside yourself?  perhaps....perhaps involves a calibration between the inner and outer.  but anyway.....you will see in some classrooms, there are clocks that tick....and there are some that don't.  and i'm not saying that there is some grand conspiracy to create "different types" of people....but it's very possible that there are a few studies underway in regards to what i've outlined here.

terrible....how the mind works.  but see....once you go through college and university, you will get to a place where you need to devise a thesis in your field.  and that's what something like i wrote in the this comment, is.  it's a thesis....a hypothesis you are presenting to the world of knowledge, to be considered as probable reason for change, or for continued research.  my grandmother's thesis is on file at the university of chico, california.  it's on education.....and a study she worked on for years in the field.  and there's a reason they do that.....a reason they keep them.  and chances are....she will never see recognition for her contributions.  but it's there....and part of the changes you have seen in the educational system of the united states in the last 50 years or so.

and that's what it's all sort of about......it's NOT about getting enough units, and passing classes and getting some stamp at the end, that translates magically into receiving a higher salary in any job you choose to perform.  that's not what it's about.....

but that's how our world sells education.   and then we wonder why our kids decide to run off into rock bands, instead.....
