Category: Music
It is with profound sadness that we have to announce the untimely passing, on June 30, 2009, of Steve Duritt: bassist, luthier, and our dear, dear friend. One of the absolute nicest people you could ever meet, Steve was longtime bassist for both the The Rippers and the Mojo Gypsies, and his sudden passing, at the way-too-young age of 50, has stunned us all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Funeral Details are below: VIEWING: Sunday, July 5, from 6-8pm Peppler Funeral Home (www.pepplerfh.com) 114 South Main Street Allentown, NJ. Additional viewing will be available from 8-9:30am on Monday, July 6. FUNERAL: Monday, July 6, 10am St. Vincent Du Paul's Church 555 Allentown Rd. Yardville, NJ Burial will follow at Emely's Hill Cemetary in Cream Ridge, NJ R.I.P. Steve Duritt: bassist, luthier, and our dear friend

Steve was in the band Wynd with my husband for several years. He was one of the nicest guys you ever met. The whole family are lovely people. Steve you will be missed terribly. Sandy and Paul you are in our thoughts and prayers. Please take care and call if you need anything.
Sincerely,
Lynda Bunting and family

Lynda, you are certainly right about Steve having been one of the "nicest guys" you'd ever meet. He was truly "one of a kind," and it breaks our hearts to have him leave us at such a young age.

My dad was in WYND with Steve way back when... My friends and I used to write the "I 'HEART' so and so" letters to the guys when we were younger!!! LOL!! Steve was a great guy. I'll never forget when they used to come over and practice in our basement. The last time I saw Steve was way too long ago, my mom and I surprised him one night by showing up at a bar in Jersey where The Rippers were playing. He recognized us right away and gave us big hugs! Steve, you are loved so much by so many people! You will be greatly missed!

Love,
Erin (Bunting) Davis
