Alarm clocks kill dreams… It is kind of true…As well as this new Pj&Gaby's album; true and honest. For those who don't know them, Pj&Gaby are a vegan folk duo from London; a great combo of the lovely flute from Gaby and acoustic guitar from PJ. Both sing when PJ is not playing harmonica!
Yes, depending of your musical taste, you might need to be in the right mood to listen to it. Some toughguy might say it's cheesy, but seriously, at this time of the year, the winter, the cold, the rain, no one can't be against some warm and friendly songs. That is what Alarm Clock Kill Dreams is all about; warm and friendly. Listening to "No Matter who I am", you can't help but think about the next time you will be able to play this song with some friends having a good time.
The last song "waste of time" is a personal favourite because of the lyrics. A hymn to live our lives free no matter what, our lives free from savings and mortgages, our lives free from the credit crunch!
I can't recommend enough to support them, to support their DIY ethic of making music by going to their show or ordering some of their CD's!
"No matter who I am, I am somebody, and I'm writing my own pages. That is worth more to me than a lifetime of your underpaid wages. You may think you own me, but you are wrong, and I'm still standing strong, because I'm somebody's lover and somebody's friend and somebody's son. I will die happy if I can live free so I won't let this world turn me into its slave"
