COLD FLAME LIVE AT ROCK AT THE LOCK FESTIVAL,LONG EATON,DERBYS
One of the most successful small festivals in the Midlands over the last few years has been the Rock at the Lock festival held every August bank holiday weekend in the grounds of the Steamboat Inn in Long Eaton Derbyshire.This two day festival features quality rock acts from across the country playing to capacity crowds in front of a stage set up organised by Rock City and Drum World both based in Nottingham.
This year Cold Flame have been booked to play and the chaps will be performing on the Saturday August 29th at 6.15pm. COLD FLAME RETURN FOR 20TH ANNIVERSARY COLNE BLUES FESTIVAL
Cold Flame are proud to announce that they will be appearing at the 20th anniversary Colne International Blues Festival from August 28th to August 31st. The chaps impressed last year when making their Colne debut and this year the festival organisers have ensured that the band are rebooked. Whilst negotiations were taking place as regards a spot on the British stage over the Bank Holiday weekend, Cold Flame have now been confirmed for two performances on Sunday August 30th as part of the Fringe.More details on the full event can be checked out through the festival link see below.
Cold Flame will appear at The Colne Rugby Club on the Sunday afternoon afternoon as the first act of the days line up.This will be a two hour performance of classic original rocking blues material which is scheduled to begin at just before 2pm. This will be followed up at 5.30pm by a 90 minute set at The Crown Hotel which is situated in the centre of town.Both performances will be full set slots with the emphasis on original Flame material. We are pleased to announce that the band will be joined at Colne by special guest flautist Vicky Martin who hails from Colne coincidently. Vicky who has been rehearsing with the chaps recently, will be playing both original Flame and Tull numbers at the festival.

After last year's sucess at the festival and the support received by the band during their performances, the chaps are eager to consolidate their position as one of the hottest blues/rock bands on the cicuit.
The Colne & Nelson Rugby Club This Official Roadhouse not only offers the best in R & B music over the bank Holiday weekend but also doubles up as the Festival’s official campsite. A warm welcome awaits at the Rugby Club for all campers or for those who just want to visit this Roadhouse to soak up the atmosphere and listen to some fantastic music in the outdoor marquee which may just keep you there all night!
The Crown Hotel Once again we welcome back Noel and his team at the Crown Hotel in this the 20th anniversary of the Festival. The Crown has now been an official part of this event for a number of years bringing you the best in Rhythm & Blues music for the full four days of the Bank Holiday weekend. You will find a lively atmosphere alongside a warm and friendly welcome. This Festival would not be the same without this Roadhouse!

OCT POSTSCRIPT TO A WEEKEND OF FESTIVAL APPEARENCES
Despite the awful weather yet again experienced across England this year, for once God was kind to Cold Flame as the grey clouds disappeared on Saturday Aug 29th at the Rock at the Lock Festival in Long Eaton and to a lesser extent in Colne Lancashire, the day after.Both festivals are deserving of the reputations they enjoy and Cold Flame did not disappoint at either playing to capacity crowds who really appreciated the mainly original celtic rock and blues set performed by the band.Flautist Vicky Martin may have been making her debut with the band but it hardly showed as she blended very well with the chaps with much promise for the future. So impressed were the organisers at Colne that a request went out on the monday morning for the band to play the sold out British Stage on the Monday evening...unfortunately circumstances then combined to prevent this from occuring this time round.Next year heh!!!! see comment at the bottom of this blog.
A request has gone out for piccies from both festivals played by the band over this year's Bank Holiday weekend and some pics can now be found in the alobums section of our myspace. Additional pics will be posted asap.The Rock at the Lock gig was vidoed both by the Cold Flame crew and by the festival organisers and again footage from this event will be posted on the website and on utube asap.

Following all three festival appearences covered in this blog relating to both Rock at the Lock and Colne, the guys were inundated with punters wanting to know more about Cold Flame.Many of the comments related to wanting to see the band on the bigger stage ie on the British Stage at Colne.The crew would therefore like to express their thanks on behalf of the band to all who came and supported Cold Flame over the weekend.Also to make a suggestion....if you want to see Cold Flame play more on the big stage then tell the organisers...its really that simple as word of mouth/emails go a long way.Please check out the following link www.bluesfestival.co.uk and get emailing.
