On Friday we that is the analog bombs visited the bcb radio station to engage in an unveiling of our new recording, an in-depth 'ahem' interview, and a live performance. THIS WILL BE AIRED ON wEDNESDAY 28.10.09 AT SIX O'CLOCK. The live performance consisited of Lee on acoustic guitar, Ben vocals, deano on a blowy thing with keys, Matt on trombone and myself on bongos. We played an impromptu musical version of a well known tune and a version of Lola whereby i've just realised i make my singing debut, which at one point turned into laughter when i inadvertently looked in Deano's direction.
The whole event was very pythonesque and started of in true fashion by us all not been allowed in with beer in tow. Thus ensconced outside the premises cans and tabs in hand we fitted in well with the local community. Indeed Deano made 2 pence whilst busking for five minutes. The main woman (one who actually gets payed at the station) saw it was us and relented on the beer ban (like that would have actually worked anyway). The ban was put in place i believe after our last visit which resulted in a soaked lager carpet before we even got throught the door. I think she realised the need in the eyes of a few of the lads and knows the way to a lads heart.
The show was presented by Liz Jenkins who i think was a little confused and over awed initially by the frolics taking place. In addition Dave 'the man who gets things Dunn' was filming everything on his recorder. Now we hadn't asked for this or owt and i believe its safe to say that Dave may have some classic you tube footage on his hands. Indeed he didn't appear to stop laughing throughout. You need to listen to the opening of the show if for nothing more than the introductions whereby a new member of the band was announced. Not gonna spoil anything but its a classic, which we intend to go on forever. Overall there was some serious moments which is what will probably go out on the actual radio edit, but the edit will be quite hard i suspect because in the main it was mostly silliness and mayhem. She promised to send out an unedited version which depending on how bad it is we will have to decide whether it is capable of been viewed. The four new songs were played and they sounded good despite only been the first mix by Dave e.g. no effects, occasional balance issues but in the main a terrific job by him. The presenter loves em apparently and we hope you will too. Copies are gonna be aavailable at the Mannville gig, the new t-shirts too. So be there for that. We are supporting a signed band next month the name of which i can't remember, abit like Ben and lyrics, or Lee and any song we have ever written.
PS Rick is kindly staying on for these gigs next month but is then leaving, thus we will be starting the new year with a new bass player hopefully. Please pass the word 'cos we want a new bass player as soon as Rick as completed these gigs. PPS Make sure you try and tune in Wednesday 'cos we had fun doing it and we reckon you may just enjoy it too. Cheers Danny (danny's word are not necessarily those of the analog bombs and any copyrig.......
