So it seems like a lot has happened already this month and I just wanted to share a few things with everyone. First and foremost Sean got married on the 2nd and we all had a great time at his wedding, which was really cool and classy. Congratulations Sean and Rebecca! To think they actually met because we played Nearfest, which happened to be Sean's first gig with us and now they're married and starting a life together... too cool!
So Sean got married on the 2nd and Robin and I, yes I'm still married and I know I have to change the bio on the web site, celebrate our birthdays together, mine is on the 26th of August and hers is on Sept 11, so we started having this party on labor day, sept 3rd, where all our friends come and we eat, drink and play music. It's a lot of fun and the gathering is the party in which all other parties should be measured. I dubbed it OTTFEST. Anyway, Sean and Rebecca are on their honeymoon so no Enchant music at the party this year; last year we did a couple instrumentals because Ted was missing and we were hoping to play some real stuff being that Ted made it this year... but wait Paul Craddick knows a tune or two and he's at the party! Need I say more? We did "My Gavel Hand", "What to Say" and "Oasis" and man I tell you it was a trip down memory lane! Not only was it totally awesome to have Paul playing drums with us again, it was all so familiar as well, like an old pair of jeans or your favorite shirt... it just fit so right. The attendies at OTTFEST went bananas as well as the band having a great time. I posted a few pictures of what I guess you can call a reuinion of sorts you should check them out. Oh yeah and stop by Paul's My Space page and bug him to put together another Xen record!
Well Sean's back from his honeymoon and he stopped by The Gigantics gig last night along with Ed, which was cool. I'm getting geared up to start making Enchant music again and I think that everyone is in a good space to fire the band back up and finish a record. It's been too long and I'm starting to jones to play some interesting music again. I'll let you know how it's coming along.
Anyway thanks for listening and I'll blab to you again soon.
Doug
