Category: Life

I knew Jeff to be a man who lived with pain all his life.

He bore it with great dignity and no little humour, whilst giving us an insight to his generous soul through his unique music.

I clearly remember the enthusiastic the way he responded to my request to record a version of 'When a Blind Man Cries' for the 'Gillan's Inn' album.

He understood what it was all about - he really got it.

His performance, alongside Jon Lord's, on that song remains one of the most poignant interpretations I have ever heard.

It was an honour to know him; what he gave of himself will continue to travel with me.

Rest in peace dear friend, my god you deserve it.

With great respect, Ian Gillan

"Some people leave a mark,
When you hear that first refrain,
Like Lightning in the dark,
Like sweet refreshing rain.

Always in the distance,
So when life deals out its cards.
Helps you make a stand
Makes you go the whole 9 Yards"....

Bless you Ian, as long as you keep on Rockin' Jeff's spirit will stay alive for all of us.
Keith

We too are saddened by Jeff Healey's death..we were shocked..we never even knew that he had cancer of the eye since a one yr. old..we just assumed that his blindness was from birth..God..we are terribly hurt by this loss in the music world..he was so very very talented..we can only hope for the best with his darling family that he has left behind..God Bless them and may Jeff rest in peace now from his lifelong pain..Nina, Don, Jon, and Pete of the Blind Rage Band, Palm Harbor Fl

A sad loss to the music-world, but for sure he was a true talent who influenced many thousands of musicians, with a feel and a passion for real music.

His music and influence will always be heard, and be played forever.

God has a special place for the people he gives gifts to.
