This is one of the most amazing Christmas recordings I've ever heard -
it's subtle, non-bombastic, non-Jazzy swing big band sparkly hip
hop - it's somber and reflective - just like I like it....if you do
too...or not - this one's for you.

It's a duet between Jonatha Brooke and Kevin Gilbert from 1995 -
Jonatha is (lucky for us) still with us...but Kevin left this world
at age 29 in 1996.

They are both brilliant talents and both on youtube with numerous
videos - as well as Kevin's work with Toy Matinee.

You can find more about them here - in the meantime, enjoy this
little masterpiece called O Come Emmanuel.

Hey Dawayne...
Great call on this one. I've long been a fan of Jonatha's work and this teaming with Kevin Gilbert is particularly haunting. I especially love the key change where Kevin takes over the lead vocal....it's almost like a burst of light coming through the music. Fantastic.

Thanks Dawayne....and Merry Christmas to you and yours. All the best for a fantastic 2008 as well.

Dawayne: Ethereal, transcendent, inspirational and very cool - I'm a fan of both artists but hadn't heard them together. Thanks for the pointer!
