First and foremost a BIG hand to Mr Kyps live music promotions and all their staff for the months of hard work and preparation that went into this gig. I managed to get the ball rolling but know from experience 3 way conversations are not the best way.

Talking to the Prince backstage he had been looking forward to coming to Bournemouth partly because it took his mind racing back to his 'first gig' he played in a club called 'Bournemouth' in Jamaica. All the bands of any standing in the day would play where the atmosphere I could imagine would be unparalleled today.

Mark Lamarr span some great Ska and Reggae tunes to start the night rolling and was happily wandering around admiring the venue during the course of the evening. Approx 9.15 Mark introduced Django who got 'stuck in' to their set of New and Old tunes from the Dead 60's Riot Radio to Toots and The Maytals Pressure Dropped with a few of their own 'Original tunes' thrown in setting the pace for the rest of the evening.

After another set from Mr Lamarr, Delroy Wilson came out with his band warming the crowd with some old Desmond Dekker numbers. Prince Buster came onto the stage to an unknown Instrumental (NOT 10 COMMANDMENTS AS STATED IN THE ECHO) huge rapture of applause and energetically flew into his set of quality pioneering tunes Madness, Al Capone, Orange Street, Enjoy Yourself, One Step Beyond, Whine Or Grind the inspiration of so many 2 tone bands that have followed. Again the atmosphere was wicked, sound and lighting fantastic a prevalige standing before this legend for so many. How much more can a promoter want? What a man PRINCE BUSTER.
