So the Fresh EP is finally done and about to be released.
Man, I think that's the fastest I've ever worked. Some of the tracks were conceived over the last year, but I kicked it into pretty high gear in the last couple of weeks.
So here's the deal.
5 Tracks.
1.Simply Fresh.
An electro 60's psych rock freakout featuring a bunch of people I don't know. I spent the day with a microphone roaming the streets interviewing people about their hygiene habits. This served as the basis for all lyrical content. Fresh Kills and DJ Irate make a little appearance. Opens with the sound of me taking a shower.
2-Unorthodox.
A track featuring More or Les, about how weird my beats are. Les unsurprisingly slays even though the dude had a cold. I love that guy. Eventually this busts out into a full on electro Bossanova party freakout.
3-The Quest for Extreme Personal Freshness.
I'm really happy about this track. The basis of this track was formed by the illustrious Laura Barett. A spooky, highly processed Kalimba, classic MPC beats, and a full on 70's synth shred solo palyed by none other than my DAD makes this one of my favorite from a production point of view. It's pretty crazy. My room mate came up with the title, after explaining what he goes through to keep food fresh.
4-In Retail.
Originally planned to be on another project, this track features Masia One, The Wordburglar, and Maylee Todd (Who's going to be crazy famous, so I'm lucky to have her on here ). 3 ridiculously talented people. How could this track possibly suck?! It's a track of the trials and tribulations of working in Retail. Something we've all spent more time than we'd have liked doing.
5-Rubbing Garbage (in your face)
This was me having fun. Guitar Feedback, Toy Drumbeats, Stylophones, Circuit Bent Keyboards. I don't care if you don't like it. I had fun making in.
I'll have a couple of these posted soon.
