Today I searched for inspiration. I looked under my bed. I looked through my notebooks. I dug into the cushions of the couch to see if I'd dropped it down there. I opened cupboards and checked behind shelves. I spent some time walking around my neighborhood calling it - hoping it was within hearing range. I put up posters on telephone poles and I posted notices in windows and on the internet. I got it's picture placed on a carton of orange juice and offered a reward. All to no avail. I didn't find my inspiration today.

But the search got me thinking...How did I lose my inspiration anyway? It was there when I went to bed. I know this because I had the most fantastic dreams last night. Maybe it got lost when I woke early in the morning to go to the bathroom. Or when that driver cut me off in traffic on my way to the music store that is my office today. Regardless of where I lost it, it's gone. I am simply not inspired today.

So tonight I will go home, do my dishes, watch a movie maybe or read a book. And I will look for inspiration to refill my own low supply. Perhaps the trip to Chicago next week will inspire me? Maybe I can find a blues club on the way down and interview a musician about his feelings about the blues.
