In 2004,i met selim at a party i went to in hialeah.
he was telling me how he was getting into guitar and wanted to get together with people to play music.at the time i was running a rock club in miami and knew people in bands,i would book them on a regular basis, and i was really interested in actually being in a band, but never had any experience singing in front of people.honestly i didnt think i was made to be a singer, but since selim was going into this with no real experience either i decided to give it a go.we found a drummer pretty easy and we were in need of a bassist,so i took it upon myself to play bass and sing, which was really hard for me to do,but eventually about a year later we found a bassist(gerald).with that line up we played for about two years, and started to get a buzz going, playing the hot clubs here in miami until we had differences with the dummer and began looking for another, for about 6 months we went electric with our drums until we found our second drummer, which we recorded our first full length album with.and had two new members come in to fill up background vocals and put samples into the music.untill our drummer had to quit for personal reasons and we started to look further for another.we played all remaining shows with our friend mario, until eddie finally switched from back up vocals to full time drummer.

At that time some of the members thought that they didnt really belong in sagahigh and wanted to change the name.so we changed it to oceanaire, but it was taken.so we put names into a hat,and one of the first names i put in was the last night we pulled out.
so we named the band the oxfire.it was to be with that name that the band changed and never looked back.

We were recording our album from may of 2008 and was never finished.
ive been having a lot of trouble lately with paying bills at he wasrehouse we were rehersing in.but tried to keep my head up.when the bands name changed to oxfire i sort of thought that i was expendable, and i was.at some points instead of saying they would help me the guys would instead offer to rent another place so we could all chip in but i never believed them becuase they should of just helped me more with our warehouse.i did not want to carry the load by myself.

there was a lack of communication both on my part and on the rest of the band, not only with music, but with our planning.if 3 of us talked alone and planned alone, the rest of us would just have to go along and not really have much of a say in things.

before i was the lead singer i was a synth player and before that i played bass for the band, but at the time of this writing i was only a singer and the only one that doesnt really matter.
i just would like to say that,No one really listens to lyrics in my opinion, and niether did my band.

they never asked what i was singing about.they never found out that some songs were writen about them and how much they didnt listen.when we were recording vocals for the new album is when they started to listen to what i was doing and wanted me to change it.im not against sprucing up something, but after 9 months of playing the same song and your own band having no idea what i was doing, made me feel like me being taken out of the band line up and taken off all those songs was something that was being talked about for a while.when the fire was turned up,i was abandoned.

so now the oxfire is looking for another vocalist to sing over songs ive already sang over,to write other lyrics that those songs already have,to give an entire other feeling to an already rapidly falling disaster.

when we started sagahigh,it was a partnership between two guys curious of what it would be,but when one turns their back on the other, its a betrayal.and a sad one.
becuase they get to go look for another singer to sing over songs already writen, but on my side,i have to start over, and it isnt fair, becuase every one should start over not just me.after all i did to keep this afloat,i was the one that was booted out.i waisted another 5 years of my life.

And it shouldnt be avoided.
and its a saga on its own.
there is no side of this.
this statement has only scratched the surface of a very difficult story to tell.

Richard Larralde (lead singer of saga high)
