Hey all,
My editors at Jezebel Music (the site that lets me prattle on about whatever music I'm listening to that week) have asked me to suspend my
regular columns for them, and begin work on a new column. Focusing
specifically on the 90s, my intent is to deconstruct what went wrong
with the music industry, why this current slump seems like a death
rattle, etc.
I'm beginning at 1985, focusing on a different year
each week through 2003. The first column, an introduction, went up on
Friday. I hope you'll check it out. Might spurn some interesting
discussions.
Of course, if you think I'm an overopinionated windbag, feel free to ignore it.
http://www.jezebelmusic.com/7253/no-1-the-introduction/Greetings from Durham, UK! It's wild over here. Touring Europe is basically exactly what I thought it would be. Ask me about it when you see me.

ps-Also, State School (great friends from Dayton, OH) and I will be doing a relatively short east coast/midwest/southeast tour late Oct./early Nov. A lot of the regular venues will be invaded, plus a few surprises. Check out the dates, then come see us!
pps-the stupid "what are you listening to" feature won't let me tell you I'm listening to Locust Abortion Technician by Butthole Surfers. It seems important you know that.
