SCROLL DOWN FOR IMPORTANT UPDATES ABOUT MY NEXT FEW TOURS, RECORDING PROJECTS, ETC.
Hey everybody,
I don't ever do stuff like this, but you should check out this record:

It's a Sesame Street record, possibly one of the very first, considering the "Gordon" in mention is the afro-endowed Gordon, as opposed to the bald Gordon I remember from my childhood. And it centers a character I never saw on the show.
I was obsessing over old Sesame Street songs a few months ago, and this was the type of record I was looking for: soulful, disco/funk-lite, fun, educational, and entirely Elmo-free. Given Franklin's regular references to such black stereotypes as collard greens, the record would probably be slapped with the "Not-Suitable-For-Children" tag that's been ubiquitous on all pre-1990 Sesame Street archive stuff.
Let me know what you think of this: I really, really like it.
In other news, I'm leaving for tour
again next Saturday, October 24th. The impetus for this tour is to make it down the THE FEST in Gainesville, FL. I am playing at the FEST officially at 10:00 PM on Sunday, November 1, at Flaco's. I'm sure (I hope) we'll be playing a bunch of unofficial shows as well. I'll be on tour with State School, rad folks I met in Dayton, OH on the Brighter Light Tour. Come hang out with us!
2009 coming to a close means I'm starting to book 2010's string of shows. I want to go to Europe in March and cover the Continental states in April and May. The US tour will be in two parts: The West in April with my friends Father, Son and the Holy Smokes from Minot, ND, and The East a little later, with someone else (no idea who, yet).
As always, if you want to do a show for me and my friends, please do.
I hope to see you soon!
xoxo
