Okay so here’s the deal. My girlfriend and I are on this trip celebrating our birthday this year and the fact we’ve known each other for some well I’m not going to mention how many years. Originally we had decided to travel Italy (her choice) Greece (my choice) and we were going to trek around lugging our baggage (and I don’t mean emotional) all over the Mediterranean when we realized that maybe what we should do is take a cruise.
That brought us to where we are now, on a ship sailing towards Athens and loving every minute of it. Not because we are conforming to the ships rules or itinerary but because we didn’t want the hassle at our age of caring heavy cargo over cobblestone. So we are docking in destinations and making our own way into cities that have beckoned us for years. Yes quite the adventure and of coarse as usual worrying our families who wish we would just join the regular tours and stick to the mainstream crowds but lets face it that’s not Rosie and me.
So we are off to taste Athens in the next couple of days and then it’s off to Turkey and Egypt. There is nothing on earth greater than casting your fate to the wind and enjoying what life has to offer. So far we have not sunk the ship or disrupted anyone else’s life so that’s a good thing and we continue down the adventurous path that we are on.
Stay tuned – there is more to come.
