Ok..what a wonderful start to the Holiday season. I woke up early this morning and headed to the farmer's market..what did I find?
Yams, yukon gold potatoes, celery, carrots, onions, Fuji apples, fresh chestnuts, butternut squash and huge branches of fragrant rosemary. I got an early start to my turkey stock. In the oven, roasting ever so slowly, I have carrots, onion, celery, crimini mushrooms and turkey wings. Wow..my apartment smells heavenly!~
I also roasted the chestnuts, the squash, and the yams.
The aromas of winter herbs like sage and rosemary and the warm scents of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and ginger put me in a trance. I also, picked up some beautifully speckled cranberry beans that I will saute in some butter and enjoy with a butternut squash and apple bisque. Enjoy your day of cooking, stay organized, put on some jolly music, and cook, cook, cook!!
PS. A glass of beajoulais will help too!!
