Current mood:  amused

I've been tagged!  Here are the rules: Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird random things, facts, or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose 5 people to be tagged, list their names, and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave a comment that says 'you are tagged' on their profile and tell them to read your latest blog. ENJOY!

1. I am a food blog voyeur – I read them more often than I read the news, and I have a collection of them bookmarked on my home computer.

2. I was always great at math, even passed the Calculus AP exam in high school, and finished the whole Calculus series in college. My one weakness was Geometry, in 9th grade. I never earned higher than a C+.

3. As a kid, I was only allowed to watch TV on Friday and Saturday evenings during the school year, which means I missed out on a lot of pop culture. I did my best to catch up in the summer and later, as a teenager, but I'm sure it's not the same.

4. I have a step-grandmother in China, but none of my grandfather's 6 children have ever met her.

5. I like to watch the Drum Corps International competition (on PBS) and the movie "Drumline," because they remind me of my own band geek days in high school. And yes, I played the flute.

6. When I was 5, I rode my Big Wheel with my eyes shut (a sibling challenge), and slammed into our car. A couple days later, I sported a black eye as I walked down the aisle as a flower girl in my uncle's wedding.

7. Cherry scented things make me gag – they remind me of this stuff they used to soak up vomit at my elementary school. It looked like cat litter, but smelled of fake cherry. (I am resisting the urge to gag as I write this)

8. I am an adventurous eater – there are very few things I don't eat or at least try, but I do not like peanuts, peanut butter, raisins, or anything with dried coconut (but I like some foods with coconut milk in them). I also don't like cereal with milk, but I can eat dry cereal.

9. I am not afraid to see a movie or play, travel or dine alone. In fact, sometimes I prefer it.

10. Luckily, I do not suffer from Asian flush (lack of enzyme to process alcohol, thus turning the victim a frightening shade of dark red when drinking any alcoholic beverage), but I seem to be allergic to the tannins in some red wines. The problem is I'm not sure which ones, so sometimes I end up with severe congestion and sneezing.

--------------------------------------

Tag – you're it!

Paulie – because he shares my obsession with food

Erica – because she's on the road and must have lots of fun tidbits ripe for sharing

Ben – because he hasn't blogged in ages

Elisa – because I haven't known her very long and need to know more!

Alisha – because I know she'll have some of the BEST stuff for this game

* Nice... you said you play the flute... Mind Spins...
* Tough break on the Big Wheel, but you gain much "tom-boy" cred!
* Was geometry the one with Tan and ArcTan?  Or is that what I call myself as a nerd... AntiTan. :)

Had fun reading your post!

My tomboy years... you have NO idea how much of a tomboy I was. You'd never know now, I'm pretty girly these days.

Geometry was a lot of proofs. Yuck. Dark period of life.
