Since we started this band we have played a very broad variety of venues. We've played big clubs, small clubs, cafés and even at a private pool party. Now, we've gone full circle and played a Belgian kitchen... It started with the longest drive of the tour - what was supposed to take seven hours turned in to twelve. We were a bit surprised when our navigation system led us to a regular apartment building in a back alley in the town of Gent. But, it seemed like we had in fact arrived at the right location. A nice girl led us through some narrow hallways into a kitchen (!). This community kitchen was our "venue" for the night and at first we were quite sceptical to the idea of playing there - but drawn into it at the same time. To say they were unprepared is a bit of an understatement. Our guess is that they expected a quieter acoustic performance. We started to set up the drums and soon realised there were no microphones for us to sing in. An even bigger problem was that none of us had realised that the electric wall sockets were of different standard from the ones in Germany which ment there was no power for our amplifiers. Also, there was no liquor. Things were looking pretty bad at this point... But, slowly the pieces were starting to fall into place. We got some food (served on the pavement) which got our mood up and then we found a bottle of tequila. A canadian couch-surfer who happened to be there conviently had a wall socket converter and and another Belgian fellow got us a microphone and amplifier so that our voices could be heard. It seemed like we were actually going to be able to perform after all! Some of the twenty some odd audience members had to catch the last train home and since we'd arrived pretty late, and due to all the technical commotion, we hurried to get to it so that they'd be able to hear a couple of songs at least. With now around fifteen people in the small kitchen we carried on and it developed into quite a good little concert. Weird as hell - but fun! Afterwards, anders took our merchandise bag out on the street and took on the role of a street salesman. We actually got some t-shirts and vinyls sold. We then moved on to a small freakish bar that we managed to turn into an "open strip pole night". Erik cut his hand on the pole and an around 40-year old local lady got a bit over-excited about the idea which forced our eyes away from the pole... We left to grab a bite to eat and it's all a bit blurry after that... Fun times! Next stop: Frankfurt!

Wish I'd been there, though not for the pole escapade.
