A Life Lived In Tomorrow

Fantasy life was assumed but not found
Fate lives in a casket locked up underground

Blocked By The Pain Of Memories That Surpassed
The future desired lives far in the past

True love was murdered by untimely lust
Destiny whispers to hope in disgust

The world does spin but it’s no longer round
Endless the dirt in hearts burial ground

Breath is still forced and without hesitation
Through doors that don’t offer the gift of rotation

Whirlwind is the brain that can’t find its fate
Got confused by directions and showed up too late

Exits are dirt filled and one way is each street
Hope dies when it reaches dead end of defeat

The purpose of life until death is just sorrow
Empty was the corpse that lived life in tomorrow

such confusion in reaching for what will never come, for tomorrow is only today,
just spelled another way.., just as  today is the  beginning of the  past just waiting to be remembered ,
how one  remembers  today depends on that we reached out for to let go ,did we accept the pain,,did we treasure the joy,,beautiful haunting soul stirring creation, that causes me to ponder ,
the state of mind you were in at it conception, meaning u did ur job as a poet well,,peace wizthom

Today is the day that you found a new work...
You built edifice strong on foundation of dirt

It is what we make it,
this prize called tomorrow...
the past doesn't dictate
fulfillment or sorrow...

It is purpose not fate
that shall lead a new course
your soul and your strength
an undeniable force!!!

This is a beutiful work Audrey!!!
I am soooo happy you're writing again!!!
missed you

Me too!  I hope it is a good sign of more to come.

You write on cue so well - and so well taken.  I love poetry, each piece changes my life in some way or another.  I've learned once again through this :)

Wonderful poem Audrey, you inspire me. I hope you don't mind but I wrote a poem in response.

Life Lived

I never forget my past but do not dwell there,

Regrets are razor blades and broken shards of glass.

The future is a dream that cannot be borne out of despair

It hides in your shadow, patiently watching the hourglass

Life lived in future hope is a dream that never takes flight

Life lived in past regrets is a life that never had a chance to start.

I choose to live my life with no regrets, no mistakes to rewrite.

I will live for the day, the moment, the single beat of a heart.

~Greg~

Beautiful - no regrets hear.  No hate or bitterness.  What is holding me back is the hope of a future that may never come.  I am not living now - just waiting.... Why not live now and still maintain hope.

Awesome words Greg :)  As always!

Got confused by directions and showed up too late

~Deeper than Deep Audrey, I think I just found my favorite poem of yours ever....

True love was murdered by untimely lust
Destiny whispers to hope in disgust

The world does spin but it’s no longer round
Endless the dirt in hearts burial ground

~You Describe "ME" to the TEE in this piece... how I live, how I feel, my Demons, My being... This one is a little more than just a read to me but you probably know that already...

Fantasy life was assumed but not found
Fate lives in a casket locked up underground

Blocked By The Pain Of Memories That Surpassed
The future desired lives far in the past

~Then theres these lines here that hit me...   Maybe someday I'll get it right.  I Love you Audrey, thanks for being my friend and writing from your heart and soul.

~Tim.

How many times are we reminded to live life in the present. The present is unknown, so no point in living there huh?

Good thinking Audrey and Beautifully penned.
